So Chest of the Mundaine is now 100 kg and cannot be picked up?
Did I miss something? Why?

Patched early on to not change the weight of things inside it.

who knows? was the original an accident/bug? Or is the change the bug? Seems like they don't want you to have a bag of holding in this version.

ye i don't use it anymore, prob to avoid bug

It is a bug, they dont want you to have bag of holding. It is confirmed in patch notes. I havent play around with it yet. It can make barrelmancy so much easier. Too bad now you will need mod probably to bring it back.

Do NOT use it for barrels. Wanted to do that, it permanently changed my items to the "mundane" form, including the big ass bomb you can steal.

Whats the point with a bag of holding when we have the storage chest in camp that you can send to without going there.

I think it's funny, like weight is such a huge deal anyway. You can stuff everything in to your camp, but then organizing it sucks.

Would have been nice if books filtered to a book shelf,
Weapons to a Weapons Rack, and so on.

Still, a bag of holding with set slots and zero weight, I don't see how it would break the game.

Why does this chest even exist now? Seems like a total waste of development effort if the player can't use it for anything and it serves no quest purpose. I thought it was cool when you could use it to reduce the weight of items. Such a shame that they changed that.

It's easier just open a bag and sell all stuff than to go to camp for the stuff.

Because it wasn’t supposed to be the bag of holding.

I am able to pick up the chest and bring it to camp in one play through, but cannot do so in another. In one it is 20kg and Astarion has it in his inventory. In that play through it functions as they intended and noted in the patch notes, not as it was previous to the patch. In my other character play through it is stuck in the Arcane Tower, and remains there at 100 kg, and no one is unable to pick it up. I am unable to determine if this is intended now, and that previous play through where it is 20kg is not intended? I thought I read the patch notes, and the details were strictly about it's function, not its empty weight/ability to pick up and bring to camp, or carry.

People were using it as a bag of holding. It was never meant to be. And now it no longer is.

Use a different bag.

Seems pretty lame to me. I never used it for stuffing a load of barrels into it, but I did collect it as a curio. It seems to me it was functioning as intended, turning items into other items, as some kind of weird wizard trick. Making them keep their original weight makes it less magical lol, now it's more like an illusion than transmutation.

Always sad to see, when devs nerf singleplayer or co-op games, especially when it's just some quirky thing.

You could achieve whatever it was they were trying to block by having a character sitting in camp sending barrels from the camp chest to a character when they need it anyway.

If they were decent devs they would have been like "Whoa! Great thinking! You players are really thinking out of the box and it's great!" or whatever, lol.

Instead they've gotta be the NOOO! NOT LIKE THAT! STOP HAVING FUN! type

I never even used it myself because it seemed annoying to manage and keep tabs on the items within when they randomly change form, but still, the very idea that devs changed something because the players were using it how they didn't envision irritates me to no end, lol.

Are they going to "fix" the Sussur Petals next? You can bring one out of the Underdark by sticking it inside a chest or barrel etc, and then sending it to camp, and it won't wither away. You've now got a deployable anti-magic field to use wherever you like! That's gotta be on the chopping block next, right?

What about transporting corpses? You can't send those to camp, but you can stick them in a container and send the container + corpse to camp...will they "fix" that too?
