Reset companion levels to 1 possible?
I wanted to do a (using UnlockLevelCurve mod) 'leader taking underlings out training' approach where my main MC would be this over-powered Undead 15Sorc/5Fighter and the rest of the companions need to level organically throughout the game but when I levelled my MC using a trainer (WeMod), ANY character I recruit after that goes straight to level 20 and it's annoying. Is there any way I can reset companion levels back to level 1 and keep my MC at 20? I'm not against using mods at all.

TLDR I guess?; I used a trainer called WeMod to level my MC right at the very beginning of the game and using mods outfit them with really good gear (I'm dual wielding greatswords for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles) but want companions to level normally.

Can't, companions XP, as the game give it to them, is the same amount your main char have at the moment you recruit them, so if you have 999 999 xp, they'll have as much.

So far, as much as I know, your only realistic option here, is to recruit all companions and then, do your magic to go lv20 with your mc only if you're able to.

Even so, I'm not sure it'll work, since recruiting inside the camp gave xp to the companion, I have no idea how it's calculated, but if it's based on your xp...

You'll either have to get a better response than mine, or never change your allies during your run

Wouldn't this then just give the same amount of XP to everybody else too? Sounds like it defeats the purpose :(

There is a huge chance indeed, and as I've edited, since I've forgot, taking a comanion in your party, from the camp, will give him XP to scale on your actual lvl, so it might propulse him lv20 too.

I don't see any real possibility here, maybe someone will have a solution, but because how group xp is calculated, I doubt you'll be able to do your idea tbh

Hopefully Larian will introduce an option to disable group XP gain, I know some games do this, I can't remember if the DOS games did though.

yes, you can ask the skeleton to reset their class. They will be lvl 1. If you don't levelup them they will stay at level 1.

That's not what I'm after, I'd still like them to level organically throughout the game, sure I could take the "milestone" approach and give them a level after specific events/quests but that's too much work to determine when/if I should do it.

A level 20 character would demolish anything in this game by themselves.

Ehh yeah, that's semi the point, I'm doing a RP approach, so if the weaker character's end up dying and failing their death saving throws, my MC will be able hold their own, she is a 15Sorc/5Fighter so stays in the back mainly summoning Undead creatures and using the occasional spell on the stronger enemies but can and will end up in CQC if needs be.
