Surprised you're not board with the entire game.
Really that didn't come to me as a surprise, it's not a duplication machine lol
While this obviously stings I'd take it as just part of the story of your playthrough. It adds interest and uniqueness, there are plenty of weapons available, you probably would have switched out anyway before too long. This way your character has an interesting story attached to an otherwise fairly mundane fight.
Accepting and rolling with losses and setbacks can really enhance a game like this.

To clarify. I have nothing against the story, but feel that the game being limited in combat, crafting, gathering, cooking, bathing, etc, really put most of the focus on the story. Good if you are a story focused player, but not so good if you seek activities beyond that.
