Why is Dame Alyin sad after she cast Bane on Lorroakan? Did I miss something? Or has the reason why just not come up yet?

Cuz TLOU2 has taught us: "Revenge bad."

I initially thought Lorroakan might be her dad, but now I think it's just because she had a purpose for 100 years - revenge - and suddenly she's left without purpose or direction. That tends to leave people feeling hollow.

What is this TLOU2 you speak of? I know of only one TLOU game.

I think it's because she realises that her century of captivity and torture has changed her.

Why is it ridiculous? I've seen it happen to real people.

Also, a hobby? What do you think gaming is?

That is the problem - people need to learn to develop new goals once they achieve "x" goal - seek new goal.

We call this stunted development.

So why is it ridiculous that an immortal whose life was essentially static wouldn't know how to do that?

That is a great question - if you had all the time in the world - you could so much.

I might have an answer for you, it shows up in the dialogue options with Karlach if you talk to her right after and if you had Karlach in your party.

Why is Dame Alyin sad after she cast Bane on Lorroakan? Did I miss something? Or has the reason why just not come up yet? [/quote]

If you speak with Karlach right afterwards she asks you "What's got Dame Aylin so down" and you have three options to choose from as your answer. I chose "She went too far. There's something dark in her - and it's growing" to which Karlach says "Don't mistake justice for something worse. Aylin has every right to be angry - furious even. I'm glad to see her letting it out - she deserves that much. She'll cheer up. Probably just tired, like she said."

Other two options you can choose are that 1) Dame Aylin endured a great deal and she must be tired of killing evildoers. and 2) Perhaps revenge isn't as sweet as it seems.

So I'd say that perhaps Dame Aylin has a lot of unspent anger and this is making her a bit unstable.

Hey, I have a theory. As Lorroakan said, he has a way, to share Dame Alyin's immortality to another person (meant himself most probably).
Since she's in love with Isobel, who is mortal and will die some day, this will end up by Dame having to live on without her. This sharing of immortality would allow them to live together forever. I'd say losing this option by killing Lorroakhan (his secret dies with him) is the reason, why she's sad, but she doesn't realise it.
I'll try some reloads and try to find out.
