Latest Bugs/Fixes (General, Act III & Mods) [Spoilers]
Hello! The latest patch, while fixing a ton of stuff and adding a few things, has also broken quite a bit of stuff. I do a lot of bug hunting during my runs as well and would figure I would share the most egregious bugs and a possible work-around for each.

Please note: I do have several mods installed and have taken these into consideration. There's also a bug report on certain mods towards the end if you're interested. My current mod load order is listed below:

00 TutorialChestSummoning
01 Mors_Less_Cheesy_FX
02 Kyra's head and hair
03 BetterDualWielding
04 Basket EquipmentNSFW
05 NTG_Equipment
06 Purchasable Camp Clothes - All Clothing Sets
07 Ring of Elder Gods
08 Black Dye
09 Infinite Dyes
10 Darker Dyes
11 P4_Dyes
12 DiceSet_HQ

20 Golden Dice

!!!WARNING: SPOILER WARNING!!!

Before I dive into this I want to remind everyone that your greatest savior in Baldur's Gate 3 is the good ol' fashioned F5 key a.k.a: quick save. I recommend doing this constantly - especially for any potential, major interactions or combat. Reloading a quick save can fix most bugs you run into since Larian implemented the refresh tool the Baldur's Gate Mod Fixer originally created.

1.) Avenge the Hag Survivors/Save Vanra
This quest has a couple of bugs. The first being saving Marina (again) in Old Garlow's Place. Sometimes when you destroy the doll the hobgoblin dude won't trigger a cut scene. Make sure to save before this encounter as reloading your save can usually fix this. My saves are usually set before I speak with the sheep version of Marina.

The Hag's Bane potion doesn't currently work, so if you throw it at Auntie Ethel it won't do anything and you won't be able to pick it up. The only current solution is to enable Non-Lethal Attacks passive which you can find under the passive tab. At this point you can knock Auntie Ethel out of which you will get a prompt to either cut Venra out or walk away. Cutting Venra out will save the girl and you can finish the quest as usual.

2.) Shadowheart Romance
This is a tricky one. For one: people report a lot of bugs regarding her romance and there's a couple of bugs that I think I've been able to narrow down from multiple play-throughs: if you romance Karlach up to the point where she flirt with you, Shadowheart's romance doesn't want to initiate (if you've never romanced her up to this point). This has happened a couple of times with Lae'Zel too (before fighting to win her affection), but is most common with Karlach.

Shadowheart's final romance moments do not trigger until you've finished her Shar questline...

3.) Tadpole Shipments
I'm not entirely sure how this is supposed to be intended so this might just come down to player-preference... Regardless of you removing the shipment of tadpoles from the harbor of Moonrise Towers back in Act 2, or remove the tadpoles from the shipment outside of Wyrm's Rock, or remove the tadpoles from the shipment in Baldur's Gate harbor... It doesn't matter. They're always there and they don't have a prolong effect on the game's story.

4.) House of Hope
The House of Hope questline still initiates after talking to the Mother regardless if you even have Shadowheart in your camp. This will cause confusion for some people who don't have Shadowheart because the Mother will tell you to come back with her, you'll have a quest stuck in your log that will bug your OCD and you won't be able to progress it. Sorry, folks, you'll have to just ignore this quest.

5.) Volo the Immortal
Volo is an annoying character, but funnily enough, doesn't seem to want to go away. There's a few things: regardless if you ignore him at the grove or at the goblin camp he still pops back up strapped to some firewine barrels at the harbor. There's literally no point to saving him - especially when he doesn't really do anything to begin with.

Additionally, if you let the fire wine that's already spilled on the tracks leading to Volo just burn during combat on one of your turns, it'll eventually just go away.

6.) Red Nymph (Circus)
The nymph in the planar circus is now red. I haven't done a play-through with confronting her as Orin with the latest patch, yet, but if you talk to the Orin-guard outside of the donations barn and the Orin-smith and then go to the circus, the Nymph is now completely red. The "lovers" cutscene also seems to not render whichever "lover" you elected to bring into the Nymph's dream. I do not have a work-around for this one. It's just a bug.

7.) Combat Delay
This has been an on-going issue since launch and it's been a mixed reaction with players with some having zero reports of this occurring while others (like myself) are getting them fairly frequently. Sometimes after performing an action in combat the game stalls (the UI becomes unselectable and all characters just pause) for a few moments before registering whatever action you just performed (typically a combat action - more common with melee attacks, I've noticed). There is no current work-around for this, though I haven't tested the Baldur's Priority - CPU Performance FPS Optimizer[www.nexusmods.com] which some people have reported as a potential solution.

8.) Stuck Characters
Character pathing is actually broken right now. Make sure you are manually moving characters around tight areas with a lot of interactable objects as well as enemies and interactable NPCs. Your character seems to want to take the "long route" instead of the short one. The only solution as of right now is to physically position your characters in the spot you want them to be rather than have the A.I. path for you. If a character is stuck, you can way point just them (by ungrouping them), go to camp, reload a save or use dimension door or other teleport skill like misty step.

9.) Skipping Dialogue
This game does not like you skipping dialogue. Sometimes skipping will actually force you to use the first option of whatever your next dialogue choices are. You'll be forced to use a "continue" dialogue choice when, in reality, it just forcibly picked the first one for you. Cut scenes will also reset on you and won't allow you to skip them again until you complete a couple of "cuts" in the scene. The only work-around for this one is just a little patience. Skip with caution.

10.) Greater Invisibility
This one's still annoying. It doesn't always work as some actions will kick you out of it at random. The only current fix is to just re-load a quicksave (F8). It's really hit and miss on when it actually wants to work correctly.

11. AoEs Don't Like Friendlies
Be warned about AoEs like Fire Wall (which seems to be the biggest culprit for me). These long-duration, concentration spells will linger after combat unless you cast another concentration or use sleet storm or create water on your character to cancel their concentration. The only reason I warn on this is strictly positioning, because if an NPC decides to path into it after combat you're going to run into a whole new fight you didn't mean to start.

12. Rolo's Sundry
If you elect to kill the Tieflings in Act 1 but warn Rolo's gang to leave before then, you will find him at the Sourcerous Sundries in Baldur's Gate. If you don't ask him about his face on the first initial bit of dialogue, you will miss out on the chance to discuss what happened to him and his gang. If you really care, ask about him first before anything else.

13. Doppleganger Traitor Skip
You can skip the entirety of Orin's long rest events, more specifically the doppleganger traitor in your camp event, by simply finding the Emperor's hideout in Elfsong Tavern and exiting there through the sewers. Every time you are about to leave the cellar the kidnapped party member will appear through the door warning you about Orin which will skip all the threatening events that you may run into later on.

14. Immersion-Breaking Dialogue
If you elect to retain a smaller party (ie: I only took Jaheira, Minthara and Shadowheart in my current play-through) you will still get random off-scene dialogue mentioning party members you don't have. For example: in the Sundries vaults if you pick up certain books it will still mention Gale. There's no work-around for this one, unfortunately

15. Orin Doesn't Matter
This one bugs me a little. If you kill Orin right away (just by doing the Murder Missions leading up to her fight straight away) Bhallists continue to wreak havoc throughout Lower City (I was still attack in the park, for example) as if she never left. There's zero acknowledgement of her even being dead until after you elect to kill Gortash.

16. Counting House Heist
You can literally loot every vault, including the ones in front of the Head Banker without any repercussions. In fact, the only thing that will happen is the Head Banker making some comment like "Really? Whatever..." This may just be a nitpick, but I really don't think you should be allowed to have free reign over the vaults (I looted everything as a rogue).

17. Franc Will Never Be Forgotten
Whether you finish the Dribbles quest or the Murder questline, Franc's marker will forever torment your map.

18. Wizards of the Ghost
The mages sitting around the fountain by the Lower City Walls waypoint don't do anything. This has been bugging me since my vanilla runs and I really wish Larian would fix it. Really dumb to be a focus point, yes, but I want to see some damn magic! What're the people even cheering about? lol

19. The Great Escape
Just a slight warning: if you elect to break out the prisoners, if you get all of your party on the sub before the NPCs anyone you left behind will die. Additionally, if you save the gnomes in the Steel Watchers factory a bunch of gnomes will die randomly (even out of combat). Make sure you kill even the watchers outside of the factory if you're trying to save lives. They don't like to "sneak out."

20. Disappearing NPCs
This one has been more common since the latest patch where some missions if you have a survivor NPC they will simply disappear after a cut scene. For example: Venra after the hag fight in the Blushing Mermaid will just disappear after crying out for her mom. This even happened during the original Ethel quest where red caps would disappear during the fight. I haven't found a fix for this other than re-loading your save.

Regarding mods, just a couple of quick ones:

BG3ModManager users: please make sure to save and export your load order every time you make a change or else you won't be able to load your saves.

You can remove the Baldur's Gate Mod Fixer and ImmersiveUI mods. Larian has implemented their own versions of these mods so the old ones will break your game. You can simply remove them from your mod list.

The Daughter of Lolth[www.nexusmods.com] mod really breaks the already broken Minthara dialogue. Romance won't trigger unless you summon her in Act 1 (regardless if you save the Tieflings or not). The romance dialogue is super screwed throughout the entire game. I would recommend holding off on any script-heavy mods related to characters until the bugs are smoothed out. One of the most annoying bugs is, if you kill the Tieflings, then try to find her in Act 2 she'll be there in the throne room until you start the cut-scene of which she'll completely disappear and her trail scene won't happen at all. Talking to the half-orc lady about Balthazar and starting that quest, then heading back to the Throne Room you'll find Minthara standing there of which you can initiate her escape quest. Get ready for a fight though since deception dialogues won't start with the guards there. Please make sure to remove the ring from your character's inventory before removing the mod and loading a save or else your game will crash. You don't need to remove the script extender.

P.S: Minthara's character model doesn't like certain clothes from the Basket of Equipment mods. It's nothing crazy, but she will have an invisible body during the level-up screen if you have certain equipment on her. Like I said, nothing super crazy.

Using the Party Limit Begone[www.nexusmods.com] mod will really break a lot of dialogue, a lot of quests will get weird. Use with caution. You can still have it installed and not even use it and your game will run fine, but the moment you go over the 4-character limit, things will get weird.

The Better Dual Wielding[www.nexusmods.com] mod is a little janky. It was originally supposed to allow you to attack with your main and off-hand without using a bonus action. It still technically does this, however, if you use your bonus action before using the regular action it will not trigger this mechanic. Instead all of your off-hand attacks will be set aside in a "reserve" that you can't see - simply use the off-hand until you're not allowed to anymore. This is more obvious with fighting classes.

Thank you for this.

soon after Patch 2, my game has been FUBAR'ed; my cut scene gets hung-up on dialog in Act 2. I've waited 5 mins with no satisfactory result. Subsequently, I decided to restart the game and the same thing happens, but this time I'm stuck in dialog with Shadow Heart on the Nautiloid Ship; so I figured I'd bypass saving SH and see what happens on the beach. Everything appears to work until I reach the Gale segment and dialog is hung-up again. I tried notifying Larian Studios, but keep getting punted to help segments that don't even recognize the problem.

I keep seeing that Mod Fixer is not neccessary, I, however, couldn't make without it.
My attempts to install any mods using only BG3ModManager ended up with broken NPCs and combat (couldn't start conversations, combat wouldn't trigger). After I gave up and added Mod Fixer, it started working like a charm.

My guess that only those who had Mod Fixer before Patch 1/2 can delete it, and for some reason it works for them.

When I switch to a companion, I lose my UI and the Hot Keys don't work. This is causing me to reload the last save. It's rather frustrating.

If your cut scenes are getting hung up I have to ask a few questions/suggestions:

1.) Are you using Vulkan? While you get better performance frame-wise you'll experience a lot more bugs and crashes with it.

2.) Are you using mods? It sounds like you haven't really finished the game yet so I would assume you're running vanilla. BUT, if you are, remove all mods and try again.

3.) Mess around with graphics settings and update your drivers. I know this sounds silly, but a lot of people (particularly Nvidia users) are running into random issues with drivers and graphical settings with BG3.

4.) Be careful skipping dialogue because I've seen a lot of bugs/freezes/crashes/etc. with it.

5.) If none of those work: have you done a full reinstall of the game?

Interesting about your mod fixer situation. I wonder what mods you're using? Removing the mod fixer and the ImprovedUI (though I've heard it's more ImprovedUI than the mod fixer) cured the skill check stuff for me. Depending on some mods you have they can be dependent on the actual Mod Fixer itself when you technically don't need it anymore - you may want to check for some updates on your mods too because a lot of the modders have updated for Patch 2 in mind.

That's a strange one. Are you running mods or vanilla? I usually switch companions using the F1-4 keys, does that still cause the same issue? Also, if you run into the issue again see if you can bring your UI back up with F10.

I currently can't access my game because it keeps crashing at 60% whenever i tried to load any save

The 60% issue can be a couple of things since patch 2. It seems the infinite save is not actually infinite but really freakin’ slow sometimes (us SSD users are spoiled). So there’s a few things there:

1.) Wait it out.
2.) Close and reopen BG3
3.) Switch to Vulkan (if you’re AMD) or DX11 if you’re on Vulkan
4.) If you have mods, flip some inactive till you find the culprit.
5.) Update your graphics card drivers
6.) Turn off FSR if you’re using an Nvidia card
7.) Go back to a different save to see if you can load that one and try either the same route to see if it fixes itself or do another. Some quest lines/choices still have quite a few bugs (Minthara is still buggy as all get-out).

Good post. Regarding 1), throwing the potion on the ground within its range rather than direct aim worked in my playthrough.

A couple of my nitpicks (using controller):

- Scrolls with variants like summons, orbs must be set on a quick slot to use. Cannot be used from the inventory menu directly.

- Active toggle button on a quick slot messes up the popup order. Have to put it on the first radial.

- The button for Map shortcut is sometimes intertwined with the long-hold search button. When that happens, map shortcut only brings up an empty search result UI on the screen. It takes performing another long-hold search so that the result UI is no longer empty, then closing to untangle. It gets very annoying.
