Eh lol ..I kind of did write spoilers in the headline !!
Anyway, I'm not convinced she deserves much of a happy ending. She was ready to give away her baby to be eaten (did she know that? I forget) in exchange for getting her husband back, and pretty much everything we see from her is irrational and/or selfish.
edit - at least, til later in the game.)
There is only one way to finish the quest , and that is to use the wand the other alternatives doesn't really do anything and she even comes to here sences by saying that he deserves a proper burial but that option isn't doable , even If she's an idiot the man deserves a proper burial
Well , waking her dead husband with the wand is some kind of sick joke , the other alternative is almost as terrible , leave her t moan at the corpse ..It's just terrible !!
I don't want to see her, she's a stupid girl but I did want to bury her husband thou, but the game didn't let me do that
No, I really don't want to meet that miserable hag or that dellusional girl again !! I want a way to properly end the quest and that would have been giving Conner , Maryna's husband a proper burial and I can't do that because LARIAN did NOT include that obvious detail even thou the girl begs for it !
I myself, being who I am, have killed that witch (the girl I mean, and I dont mean witch actually) almost all the time. It is just like Astarion, and Gale.
I am not a fan when fantasy games drink from things like Twilight, Harry Potter, etc. It is like "comic relief". Either a game doesnt need it, or the game works because doesnt have it.
Anyway, the quest is stupid and a waste of time.
She had no knowledge that the have wanted to eat her baby and turn it into a hag, she was told that her daughter would "have a good life and be taught how to use magic, thus be better off than she ever would be than being raised by a useless woman like her".
It's very clear that the woman, in her grief, came to the hag seeking help, and the hag very quickly psychologically abuses her to 'convince' her to agree. In act 3 she's far better, after having come to her senses and rediscovering her back home.
To be fair, there's no option to bury the guy, because she wants to take his body out of there first.
But the quest could use a clear "don't tell her about the wand" option, with maybe added a book/note near the wand that hints that the wand is gonna bring back a zombie.
