Saving Karlach - have an idea and need validation - SPOILERS
So Damian is dead - and I found Karlach only after Tieflings left the druid grove. So I have this dilemma - Karlach will die at the end of the run.

But I've got an idea. Ceramorphosis is a total change of a body - it means that even if you had any internal machines your body should change - magically, and totally.

My hope is to make her an Illithid like an Emperor. So she can live. Please tell me that it's true and we can save our mamma bear :steamsad: :steamsalty:

Yes, it's a possibility, but no idea if that applies to the particular continuity of your game.

Oh sweet summer child

??? Is this a troll since you can turn her into an illithid. It's just not ideal for a lady to have to eat brains.

I want to know if she will survive as an Illithid because I didn't fix her heart machine...

You can turn Karlach into an Illithid to "save her" but this is considered a fail state ending, as are all her other endings. Her actual ending was cut from the game at the last minute, you would have been able to save her had Larian not cut the content when the Upper City portion of the map bugged out just before launch.

Dude the fact that she has an infernal machine in there is represented by her glowing chest. ♥♥♥♥ don't work like that if you're not some kind of creature from hell. I would presume the machine is ejected if she becomes a brain eater and replaced with a working organ.

So it's possible it will be back? :D

Also I already don't have Damian so her engine will blow...

What do you mean? She will not survive?

If she eats brains I would presume she will survive. Choosing not to survive is another story.

My headcanon is that we feed her death row criminals or that we go hunting for bandits together, basically just like Astarion she can feed on people we have to kill anyway.

So is emperor lying? He said he can make a ceramorphosis with you and you will not lost yourself

Just to clarify, OP:
Fail state=Bad ending (distinct from a "fail state" in that a fail state is something like your team getting wiped - a "game over", in essence)
Actual ending=Good ending (distinct from "actual ending" in that a good ending is no more "real" or "true" than a bad one, it's simply the subjective value given to the outcome of your choices)
Cut from the game at the last minute=Cut a long time ago, because every creative endeavor has cut content, but people who didn't like certain aspects of the ending decided to form a conspiracy theory around leftover files they found wherein everything they think is bad is because of "cut content"

There's varying lore on the subject and this is a video game. It may very well be exception to the rule etc, or the game might make it more clear that you are in fact dead if you go mind-flayer and that the thing you are now playing as is no longer your original character, albeit twisted.

Can you explain more about bad and good ending? Like what is a fail state and actual ending? Aren't they both "actual" endings?
