Seems Race reactivity only really matters in Act 1
I managed to make it to Act 3 as a Drow and walking around a bunch of npcs and no one really seems to bat an eye. This was in Wyrm's Crossing.

Most of the changes seem stemmed from Act 1. Do all of you have similar experiences?

Baldur's Gate is a lot more cosmopolitan that the wilderness. That's my headcanon anyway ;)

Yep had a ton of stuff as a Drow in Act 1, in Act 2 or 3 people just sort of forgot? Even the brothel in Baldur's Gate tried to sell me Drow hookers like "WHEN WILL YOU EVER GET TO SLEEP WITH A DROW AGAIN!?"

As a human my only experience with race reactivity in this game is the gnomes in the underdark calling me a drow for some inexplicable reason.

Most of the interesting interactions based on your race or class seem to vanish after act 1.

Yes, pretty much. They did not have time for this

I've been treating it like the difference between a small town vs big city. Trade cities especially will see more diversity... and I suspect the average civilian isn't going to run up to a drow and express how horrible drow are, in case that drow decides to do something horrible to them.

If that's the case, I hope they update the game. Just like they updated Karlach's endings, I've heard that she had no happy ending, now she has one and I'll try to find out without a guide, at least with my first character.

Now you mention it.
You are correct.
