I think this game deserves it much more than starfield. This game feels like every character has a much more deep background than anyone or anything in starfield, plus it is way more polished. Just my opinion. The fact larian is much smaller than bethesda just is icing on the cake of why this deserves it over starfield

It was a close call for me between BG3 and TOTK, I actually thought BG3 was gonna be my GOTY, but I will now be voting for Zelda because it doesn't have the woke BS that this game pushed into my face, annoying af.

Absolutely not, reviews suck this game off because people are starved for basic CRPGS ,

its ironic that Bioware popularized this type of game and then abandoned it to chase trends. and now they barely exist as a company and will probably be shuttered after the next dragon age if they can even manage to release it since its been almost a decade with nothing to show for it. but then again they also ruined wrpgs with their romance BS, it really was when jade empire had the threesome that the genre started to become more and more about coomer bait.


but overall BG3 is not GOTY, its good, but theres better games out this year. Besides the number of issues it has, not being actually finished after years of EA etc. other AAA games that came out this year didnt have this issue.


ppl mad about starfield seem to be mad its not zoom zoom wahoo type of game, which i never thought it was. just from the trailers it made me think of Sierra's game 'the dig' a slow burn sci fi game. but no bethesda game ever deserves goty without mods anyway lol

Nothing is beating ToTK. It is just a far more accessible game.

I'll be genuinely surprised if it gets beaten, but i doubt it.

Well for me BG3 hasn't had any competition so it's got my vote, from the 10 hours I played Starfield it was very mediocre and didn't scratch the Bethesda itch. No other major games have released this year that have interested me either.

At this point the only major game that I know of or care about that's possibly coming out later this year is Space Marine 2, but I don't have high hopes for it.

I don't think any of the sane people even consider Starfield as GOTY. The game is worse than Fallout 76 in so many ways, not even talking about Fallout 3 & New Vegas.

So it will be between Baldur's Gate 3, Final Fantasy 16, Zelda "2" and Remnant 2.
BG3 will win.

We're not talking about sane people; we're talking about games journalists. With 90% of the Game Awards vote being allotted to "an international jury of over 100 global media and influencer outlets," casual appeal is the name of the game.

Simple, accessible action games have a stranglehold on the demographic that actually gets a vote. BG3 has no chance.
