Last night inn. The mountain pass forces you to join the cult in order to pass through Act 2
Cause honestly the mountains where the easiest part of the game.
Seconded. Murdered them all.
Praise be Bhaal!
The mountainpass is like one combat encounter if you avoid going to the creche, but the Underdark has multiple boss-like encounters and numerous quests.
Then you gang up on leaders (or pick up the goons bodies lol) and it's easy
Hu? Really? I somehow missed that part. There were only a few spots with Shadows. Nothing too exciting but somehow I did the whole Act II the wrong way anyway found the inn and freed nightlight before finding the tower. Wired Act.
It doesn't, you can just slaughter your way through instead. Or even sneak through if your whole group is sneaky (or use invisibility I suppose). That's how i did it on my last run.
I don't get OP's premise though, because even if going mountain pass, you don't want to miss out on the underdark anyway. Loads of good items, many quests and XP, plus a lot of stuff that ties into Act 3.
Do the underdark and then, if you are inclined, return and travel via mountain pass.
