All Melee weapons scale with Str. Finesse weapons scale with either Str or Dex, whichever is higher.

I am not sure what the OP means. You get to add your STR bonus to damage. But there is no increasing damage die because of STR or somesuch.

Attack Roll = d20 + Ability modifier + Proficiency Bonus
Damage Roll = Weapon dice + Ability modifier
