What are your thoughts on Alfira?
Topic Title. I love the girl along with pretty much all the tiefling refugees and I regret not being a bard so I could play with her. If I was a bard could I do that? I did think her outfit was a bit silly though.

There was a certain part, in a certain play through that made me feel guilty, and certainly sparked a bit of "I don't like this right now" emotion (not a bad thing.)

Can't really say more without spoilers.

She gives nice loot aside from that its w/e would be a nice companion . Imo wasted opportunity there.

She would be a great companion...

She also teaches you instruments if you suceed 2 dice rolls 15 and 10 respectively.

Really? Dang. I must have missed it. I'll be sure to do it on my next PT so I can play with her!

Yeah you can play with her on couple occasions, like in moonrise towers to cheer up some kids (possible you can do it without bard too, but haven't tried). Also when you play near her out of dialogue, she starts playing too (as most other bards). Bard gives extra dialogue options as well.

She was way too colourful and bubbly in a place that was supposed to be depressed and struggling for their lives, with goblin invasions, druidic tensions and dwindling supplies. Felt extremely out of place. Like, she felt like whoever designed her didn't even know what was going on in the game when they added her, honestly. Plus her colour scheme and dyed hair rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. And she talks like someone I'd meet in a Starbucks.

I pickpocketed her special lute, and then also broke another special lute in dialogue. Then when I had Astarion play with her stolen lute, to my surprise she pulled out another lute and played along with him.

I have to admit, that was pretty neat. Almost... cute? Like how Volo whistles along to whatever song you play. Nice touch! But how many damn lutes do you have, woman?

Was surprised when she showed up at my camp later on. Told her to go away, again.

Then she turned up again as a corpse. Just can't get rid of her, very annoying, railroaded character, I say.

Overall though she makes a great punching bag so I guess her character is okay. She could have ended up being some annoying essential tagalong you can't get rid off, so I'm grateful she wasn't!

If you hadn't skipped her dialogue, you'd know the song she is struggling to compose is related to loss.

What being a basement dweller does to a person

You mean related to how her tutor or something died recently? Yeah she told me that after I broke her lute, and when I had another companion speak to her who didn't do the lute breaking.

Makes no difference to me! :stronk:

Interesting though, I thought she was an NPC added purely for the Dark Urge character to use as a chew toy to hammer home how evil and troubled you are...does she exist in the game if you play as a non Dark Urge character then?

I'll have to keep my eye out for her in my next playthrough.

I thought resorting to immediate ad hominems was the sign of being a basement dweller, lol.

Cheers, all the same!

I think it's a bit better if you're not a Bard and talk her through writing the song. I think the song was one of the highlights of Act 1 (Still, not as good as Lohse's song in DOS2). She doesn't get much use in Act 2 and Act 3. You do get a good reward for a casting Sorcerer or Warlock from her in Act 2 for rescuing Lakrissa.

Many people here who play BG3 don't read.
