Multiclass Spell Slots

Can someone clarify how spell slots work when multiclassing? All of the posts that I have seen say that your caster level is rounded up for half and third casters but that doesn't seem to be true.

The example I see other people post for Eldritch Knight say that level 11 Eldritch Knight / 1 Wizard would be considered a 5th level caster - 1 from wizard and 3.67 rounded up to 4 for Eldritch Knight. In my current play through, I am level 8 Eldritch Knight / 2 Wizard. I was expecting that to also be a level 5 spell caster - 2 from Wizard and 2.67 rounded up to 3 from Eldritch Knight. But I only have spell slots of a level 4 caster. Is this a bug or is it that how it should be and caster levels are actually being rounded down?

Fractions are rounded *down*, except for Artificers (which aren't in the game).

Thanks. Weird that there's so many posts that say they changed this in BG3 to round up instead of down. Was it something the devs talked about doing but then changed their minds?

I don’t know whether it was intentional (either way) but until patch 2 it rounded up and since patch 2 it has been rounding down.
