Let us loot enemies SHOVED into the void!
I know this is a contentious request within the community with people saying you shouldn't get rewarded for cheesing an encounter and others saying we shouldn't be punished for using the environment to our advantage. I see both points but lean towards the latter and here's why

Sometimes you are forced into a situation where sometimes you are left with little choice or an NPC shoves them or unintentionally suicide. Frustratingly, some mobs have items required for quests. I have had to savescum because of this. Just let us loot the same way as we res those shoved

It is illogical to have loot from them unless you're able to recover body, so it is not something that will ever be added to the game, there are mods for that.

Don't shove them into the void? What's next? People should hand feed you?

Choices have consequences

Consequences of an NPC or environmental hazard doing it without your doing?

Resurecting? There is resurection in DnD. I don't really get what You mean with that.

to be fair, you need the body to rez it in the tt, in this if theyre shoved into a pit you cast it on thier spirit orb
Dont shove then

Those items will drop on the ground near where they fell to their death, so that is not an issue.

They should normally auto-reveal with the alt key as well, so you don't even have to search for them.

Only works for quest items though, the gold and weapons and stuff will be gone, but it is a fair compromise.

On a slightly related note, don't sleep on thunderwave. Especially when upcasting it is one of the best tools to make us of chasms.

This is called choice & consequence, i.e. either you take the risk of a fight, or you bypass it and sacrifice some of the rewards. Remember that you can always come back to a fight later when you are better prepared or a higher level.

Yeah, but isn't it explained it is due to certain NPC Withers which is Jergal, Lord of the End of Everything it might be a bit stretched for why He is here and helping, but making something like that happen is not impossible for such entity.
Making plausible lore for lootbags spawning on the ledge for You is close to being impossible.

"it might be a bit stretched for why He is here and helping"

It's not a stretch at all. The Dead Three are doing a ♥♥♥♥ job of his old role. He might have gotten bored of it back when he left his jobs to them, but with seeing how and what they are doing with that power he's like "Nah bud, you can F off. No more godhood for you."

I doubt he even cares for the party really. He just really dislikes the Dead Three and we're just a tool to get the job done.

What You're saying is making sense-yes, but at the same time there is ''no-meddling'' policy among gods, and is kinda a BIIIG no-no, which even is mentioned during one of the talks with Gale about Mystra not wanting/being able to help because of this rule. But yeah, it is at least plausible, even for loremasters of DnD.

But imagine something like say.. Astilabor just chilling in the camp as a pet and making it so player doesn't miss out on loot from enemies thrown into chasms, by putting the bag with that loot near the ledge or selling it. It sounds really bad to me, and my point was about that loot thing, really :P

I choose to look at it as...the cost of making myself giggle when shoving someone into lava or off a cliff is not being able to loot them. And I'm usually happy to pay the price lol
