How are there no scythes in this game?
Come on, is there a better cliche than the necromancer who wields scythes? Instead we have "war picks", whose icons look like scythes, but the weapons themselves look like someone stuck a little curved knife to the end of a (very short) cane.

Am I just missing something?

That doesn't sound very sickle-y, but I'll check it out. Where is it?

The redcaps at the area of the Hag, in act 1 have those sickles. Also, you can craft one (if you find the components needed) at the forge of the Goblin Village.

Scythes were my weapon of choice in NWN. Yes, I was a broken pre-buff spamming sorceror and edgy af. So what. Let people play how they want. No one cares what "makes sense" in DnD.

Why? It`s not like we can be a proper Necromancer.

Nah, I'm just upset their icons look like scythes.

That's literally the definition of a sickle: A small, hand-held implement for harvesting crops.

You can find them around, but there are only a handful that are more than a stylized dagger.

I think "finishing the masterwork weapon" can provide you with one that's at least above average.
Yes, but you said "size of a knife". Unless you were talking about the handle, I have never seen a sickle that small.

Weapons have been cut down by half (or maybe more) in 5E, including the scythe, since they have no distinctive characteristics anymore. Now it is 1d4 to 1d10, 1H, 2H and ranged, and all with 20/x2.

I don't care about fancy weapons... I'm happy that I can be a revolting peasant with torch and pitchfork.

Listen, I don't mind that we have few spells to bring back the dead. I'm not looking to raise every corpse and then have to trudge through each turn because I have 15 minions on my side. But the aesthetic was essential.

I suppose I'll just make do with what we've got. I mean, Malthael wielded twin sickles, and if it's good enough for that crazy bastard, it's good enough for me.

Yes, I have heard that 5E simplified the system by quite a lot.

I do. Fancy weapons are the only reason I'd want to use a weapon in the first place.

IDR TBH I do know it was a reward for a quest… I think. Okay maybe I don’t know for certain. I’m like 80% sure it was a reward.

Edit: it was unimpressive though.

The sickle is one handed, and not very large. The aesthetic would be what you want though. I think.

I got it in act 1 though.

Malthael?

Is that the wolf from Puss in Boots?
