Dark Urge Special Form Basic info and Build
Limited Information obtained searching forums and bg3 wiki trying to figure out how I'm gonna build my Dark Urge playthrough. I read that the stats increase eventually but that was one comment of someone at level 11.

(Early?) Stats:

STR: 20(+5) / DEX: 14(+2) / CON: 17(+3) / INT: 10 / WIS: 10 / CHA: 8(-1)

Type: Monstrosity / HP: 98 / AC: 16 / Movement Speed: Large / Size: Medium / Initiative: +2

Abilities:

Slay (Action): Deal 9~29 (4d6+5) Slashing Damage. If target is Bleeding they are Afflicted with Contagion Poisoned: Stage 1, If Target is Prone attack is a crit and if target is Bleeding and Prone the attack is a crit and target may become Stricken With Flesh Rot.

Multiattack (Action): Strike at an enemy four times, each attack dealing 1d4 Slashing damage. If target is bleeding you deal 5 more Slash damage per hit and if target is Dazed each attack that hits is a crit.

Sumptuous Blood Bath (Action): Deal 4~32 (2d10) Slashing Damage, inflict Bleeding, and heal 2d6 of your own hit points. On save Target still take half damage. Save is CON. Effects last 3 turns

Let the Slaughter Begin (Bonus Action): Mark nearby creatures so their deaths make you harder to kill. Marked targets are Dazed. For each marked creature killed, you gain +1 AC. This is lost should the Slayer avoid an attack. Save is CON. Daze only lasts one turn.

Relentless Lunge (Bonus Action): Deal 7~17 (2d6+5) Bludgeoning Damage, and leap to the selected location, up to 32ft(10M) away. Any foes near your landing will roll a Strength save. On a fail, they are knocked prone. Prone lasts 2 turns

Note 1: Works pretty much like wild shape but there could be more to it.

Note 2: Armor and all equipment passives and abilities don't work when transformed.

Note 3: A few class things work I guess? Some passives? Extra attacks pass over, Thief adds its extra bonus action, Mortal Reminder works, and if you activate rage before transforming the damage bonus is gone but resistances stick around making Wildheart bear rage extra resistances enticing.

Note 4: Permanent ability bonuses like Aunties Hair add to the form. Get the CON bonus to lift form's CON to 16

Note 5: No idea if any CHAR racial passives work.

Note 6: Tavern Brawler Feat attack roll bonus works with the form but nothing else I think..... Unsure about other feats.

Note 6: Again, I haven't actually touched the special form yet.

Note 7: Unsure how long I will stick around this thread but I'll try to pay attention long enough. Add a post with your build idea or create your own thread using this info as a base, I care not.

Build Ideas:

1 Warlock Great Old One level for fear on crit as form has many ways to get guaranteed crits. (This is a must in my mind)

1 Fighter level for Defense Fighting Style for 1 extra AC

Now first what should I choose?

Option 1: Get 4 Rogue levels for the Extra Bonus Action from Thief and get a feat. Then get 6 levels of Wildheart Barbarian grabbing Bear Rage along the way. One of the feats will have to be Tavern Brawler.

Option 2: Kick Rogue to the curb and grab the rest of the levels in Barbarian. Getting rid of the 1 Fighter level is also an option if Relentless Rage is actually the GOAT.

I'm not all that knowledgeable about all this stuff so some advice about which of these options to choose would be extremely helpful!

Second Build Question:

In what order should I level up the classes? I'm clueless so anyone who knows what they're doing offering advice would really help me out here.....

Glad someone has an idea on this, ive been wanting to make a build but ive only seen my friend with it, never actually got it myself. So I wanna figure out the absolute best way to make it peak. Feats like mobile all that I figure will transfer over since mobile works for wildshape

I just finished this. This is the class i played, hunger of hades. Just Hunger of Hades. Got Crit Hit Achievement and the Dark Surge ending only 0.5% folks have seen. It was short, the other path option i had was a good 5 mins longer. If i choose to play the Dark Surge "good path",I think the ending would of had a few more cut scenes. It hinted it would.

Note to players: Hit the save before the last hit...and play with ending options!

Your also overthinking, min-maxing was not needed for anything. I picked gear on looks. I had three staves that were better but they weren't me....you know?

The Dark Urge story, the evil options. feels more appropriate for a Rogue. So i suggest trying Assassin/GloomStalker combo if story matters too you but given the math....probably not.

Oi and the form...there might of been something i missed but i used it just to take damage in some fights. The form and warlock did not really match well.

OK so ive done some testing. Great old one warlock effect DOES work but it uses your charisma in the form for the DC. So your DC ends up looking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, (between 10-11) but it IS something that works. Extra attack only works on slay/multi attack, the other options count as a full action. Thief rogue lets you hop twice a turn so all in all, id say very very worthwhile. Mobile works very well, same with athlete. Sadly the very bad news.

Tavern brawler doesnt work, defense fighting style doesnt work because you have to be wearing armor for it to go into effect, tough doesnt work, savage attacker doesnt work.

So ideally youd want to go:

1 Great Old One Warlock: For the fear on crit, DC is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but overall worth it for a single level dip
7-8 Champion Fighter: Huge leap length combined with athlete, free crit range and extra attack and 2-3 feats
3-4 Thief Rogue: Extra bonus action and possibly 1 feat if you go the 4 levels

Feats:
1: Athlete/Mobile
2: Athlete/Mobile (whichever one you didnt pick)
3: Alert or Resilient (havent tested every other feat, but these two should work)

You can do insane damage each turn, but be warned your build suddenly becomes alot less effective vs creatures that cant be proned
