I assume we'll just have to wait for certain mods to update for it to work again, as we can both play individually, it just causes them to load back into the menu when they join.
After Patch 2 some did need to upgrade in order to work like it should. Be careful that you all have the same versions of the mods.
I personally didn't try multiplayer with mods since the Patch yet, but if I do and find anything, I'll come back with what I know
I've read the forums for the ImprovedUI that it might be the mod fixers that are interfering as Larion introduced something with the latest patch. We both deleted these fixers and still nothing.
I read into things a little more and found that the BG3 Mod Manager had an update that has been making things a little screwy with mods, especially the ImprovedUI as it sets it as an override and then disappears when you launch the game.
Fix might be to go back to the previous version (1.0.9.4) until this has been updated. Boyfriend also got rid of the mod manager completely and tried to just use Vortex. He was able to join the game, but then crashed a few minutes after. He reloaded and everything seemed fine.
Maybe these might help! We spent two hours trying to figure this out in order to play again, so best of luck!
Probably about the fact that some mods have issue working together ?
For myself, I have mostly cosmetic : (tav hair salon, basket of clothing etc...) and it was basket of camp clothing that was making it impossible to play multiplayer for some reason.
We did it the hard way to know which one was causing this : turn all mods off, check if it works that way, and if it does, start adding mods one by one, seeing if you can connect. If one of them makes it not work, you got the culprit.
Still an issue for you?
But it was mods.
