Is there anyway to wipe everything, all mods, all files, uninstall and start again?
Larian put out a guide on how to do a clean install when they released off of early access. I’m sure you can find it with a Google search.
I’m not familiar with this bug? Does it just not allow dialogue?

Thank you for the info! I will look into a clean install. The bug, or whatever it is, let's you start dialogue. The Narrator, or NPC says their piece and then you get your next set of dialogue options. Choose any of them and the game freezes.
Already did that. Yeah I was in the Goblin Camp, just killed the last of the three bosses to complete the quest and when I tried to rescue Volo it wouldn't let me talk to him. I can talk with Shadowheart but it just says something like "I don't talk to followers, let me talk to the leader". Can't progress anything that requires dialogue. I've tried everything to troubleshoot it except going back on a save because I really loathe doing that all again
What did you do? A completely Clean Install?
I can confirm that this happens to me on multiple saves, in multiple games, both modded and unmodded. I figure I am just missing something since this doesn't seem to be a common problem. However it only started for me after Patch #2 was installed.

Yes the clean install
Did not save during any dialogue.
After further investigation, it seems to happen whenever a dialogue that includes a "[Persuasion]" or "[Illithid Wisdom]" or the like "[ ]" option is chosen in dialogue. Internal dice roll maybe? (as apposed to an External Dice Roll that you click yourself).
The three dialogues I have tested are (all on different Playthroughs):
1. On the Nautiloid, the machine that frees Shadowheart
2. Talking to the Githyanki Leader NW corner of the Wilderness Map Act 1.
3. Talking to Flind Act 1.
even after reloading it wont fix the issue. removed all mods, too and it's a save just shy of finishing Act 2 so i'd hate if i lost all my progress to this bug.
***POSSIBLE FIX***
I have fixed my game. I removed the "Mod Fixer" Mod that was in the BG3 Mod Manager (my "Mod Fixer" was an older version that removed the Warning). Now the game works fine and dialogues progress. I DID NOT install the newer version of the "Mod Fixer" as it is basically the same script and in my testing my game is working without it. I have one other confirmation that this fix works.
Good luck.
EDIT: I found a different fix that worked for me. First i uninstalled the Mod Fixer but that in itself didnt fix the issue. Then I installed the ImprovedUI mod which fixed my issue without further changes. Can now play again. Thanks everyone in this thread and good luck to other people looking to fix this issue :) EDIT
i tried this but it wouldnt work sadly
gotta see if something else fixes it
Were you able to pick up your save game or did you have to restart?
