ShadowHeart Romance Question - mild spoilers

I think I am getting towards the end of Act 1 and I have been trying to romance Shadowheart while flirting with Karlach and Laezel. My relationship meter with SH shows Very Good and things are moving along nicely with her. I just finished killing all the Goblins at the camp and rescued Haslin and am at the party at my camp. I go straight to ShadowHeart and start a dialogue and all of a suddden, she is noticeably ... cool towards me. She doesnt seem interested in me and even suggests I go and flirt with others in the camp. I get to a point in the dialogue when I ask if she is giving me a Final no and she says something like "For Now" and something else about her not wanting to get my hopes up unlike others in the camp. I had read earlier that someone said her romance is a very slow burn but I had read somewhere else that they were able to get her to kiss at the party. I am a little confused and not sure whether my romance with her is dead in the water or whether she is playing hard to get. One last thing.... I do have the justice debuff mark that I somehow picked up when I was killing the goblins in their camp so I am not sure if that has something to do with her reaction to me . Any help would be greatly appreciated

Haaha.. That would make sense. Up until thsi point, I was just mildly flirting with the others but didnt take any serious steps or anything physical. Thought that would be ok and not be a dealbreaker for SH in Act 1

I do have a follow-up- question but first....

As I suspected, something is supposed to happen with ShadowHeart at the party after the goblin camp in order to advance her romance. I figured out why she was cool to me at the party and didnt want to advance things. I had previously flirted with Kalach and Laezel and even though nothing physical happened, apparently that did indeed affect my romance progression with Shadowheart (I had read an earlier thread that you can flirt with everybody in Act 1 without impacting the SH romance... that appears to be untrue). I found a saved game right before the party and told Laezel that our fling was off. then when the party started, I got the romance sequence with ShadowHeart which was kind of sweet. The only problem now is that I need to play from that old saved game (retread about 4-5 hours of the game but at least the Shadowheart romance seems to be on a good footing).

Now to my question... does this mean that I cannot have a casual flirtatous comment with any other companion or NPC for the rest of the game without messing up the Shadowheart romance?

The SH romance can get bugged. I kept on trying to romance her from Act 1 but the game forced me into an unwanted gay romance with Gale instead. i had to force it in Act 3 using cheat engine, or else I would have gone the entire playthrough with no SH romance.

I'd recommend using cheat engine to reset the "dating history" flags of the game and then also using it to select the one companion you want to romance. apparently i'm not allowed to post the link to steps here but there's a post of bg3 reddit "psa romance fix by matticusv"

how did you force it? I was only able to skip directly to our being partners but I assume that would miss the sex scene unfortunately. I tried flagging the dating part on and off again but she kept telling me we had something special but now our happiness lies somewhere else unless it's a save file from 20 hours ago

Sharts romance doesn't officially really happen until Act 3, she's a slow burn of a romance. You have to show your acceptance of Shar in Act 1 and just in general make choices she likes.

In Act 2 is where her big story arc happens and you can swing her major choice in any direction she'll still romance you but you have to just keep talking to her. Once Act 3 starts then you are in a fully fledged romance.

Shart is not interested in a poly relationship either, if you are starting a romance and get involved with Karlach you can only choose one or the other. I believe Gale, Halsin, Astarion, Lae'zel and Karlach are the only options for poly. Wyll and Shart are exclusive only.

After the ditrty did is done though.... Bring her to the drows with Halsin in the party for... extra spice.... She seems to be way more open minded about things than, yeah well... -)
