Missed Blazer of Benevolence?

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but when I rescued Volo from the goblin camp, I had cast Disguise Self to look like a Drow. By the time I met with him again in camp, I had deactivated the spell to look like my usual self. It seems as though this caused him to no longer recognize me, and I was not given the Blazer of Benevolence as a quest reward. Later on, I tried to talk to him again as a disguised drow, but I think I had already triggered the "end quest" flag by that point. In a way, I guess that's exactly the point of Disguise Self, but it still kind of sucks that I seemingly missed a piece of equipment I would've liked as a bard.
