In my first playthrough I forgot to actually free Halsin from the chains during/after the fight (assumed he was) and ended up leaving him there. Yenna stuck with me in camp, no change in dialogue and Halsin turned up at the gathering of allies thing (though was apparently still in chains).
I can only assume this was some half baked npc that is just super buggy because they're not important enough to care about fixing.
This is how it happened to me. On my first toon it was Halsin. on second run it had her kidnap Lae'zel but I reloaded my save and placed Lae'zel in my party before starting the scene and it was halsin again. but in both instances when they got snatched Yenna vanished and when i finished the quest she never came back.
Edit: I actually loaded to postpone the kidnapping cause I had some unfinished business with the victim and the same thing happened a second time.
Edit 2: Her skiddish cat seems to me a kind of a clue that she's probably a Bhaalist/doppelganger.
For example, whoever gets kidnapped can't be in your party. They also can't be a hireling or dead. If nobody meets these conditions, Yenna gets kidnapped instead. If they do, then Yenna is implied to be Orin (or one of her doppelgangers, anyway), which is why she disappears.
Yeah, same for me, I guess, Orin killing her offscreen if we don't play specific way to save her in camp dialog or after kidnaping.
Probably, Yenna was needed for those players, who apparently have all Gale, Halsin and Lae'sel all with them, so there would still be an option
