It's always been that way, and it's not like it's difficult to take a long rest.

It has always been once per Long Rest; otherwise you'd be critting every time you hit your enemy.

Not sure whether or not it states that in the Illithid Powers menu, however. BG3's tooltips are not always completely forthcoming with information.

it was ALWAYS 1/Long Rest. hovering over the little Reaction Icon even tells you as much.

I thought it was per short rest as well but I'm seeing posts from almost a month ago claiming it was per long rest as well. Kind of regret taking it now but alas, another playthrough will have to rectify this mistake.

It's really good because you can toggle the reaction off and on to use it whenever you want. Being able to guarantee a crit even once is a huge advantage.

It is so far deeply hidden in the game this bs about once per long rest...

The areas of the game where the players actively see AND choose whether they would like to unlock the ability NOTHING says it's once per long rest.

It never informs players that it's once per long rest.

I had to go DEEP into the character sheet to FIND this BS...

this is some crap attempt at 'balancing' the game...

Its Always been a long rest, ever since release its been a Long rest.
