Because it's fun, especially with Karlach, who does a spartan kick instead of shove.

This is the way.

Because Larian. They design encounters to be obnoxious on anything but the lowest difficulty level if you don't abuse game mechanics. That's intentional, and knockback is simply the most obvious one in BG3. That's why so many fights have bottomless pits everywhere.

If it makes you feel better, they literally want you to abuse the system any way you can, so don't feel bad about it (other than losing some loot).

Yeh it's annoying, it's fun for the player, but a huge waste of loot.. push the wrong people off a ledge and you can lose out on some really good gear. But i suspect that's the real reason why it was added. The ai loves shoving you off ledges.. so plan your fights so you're hugging walls Drow and Githyanki esp like to hurl you off ledges with thunderwave and shove. Even goblins with 8 str can shove a 20 str barb off a ledge..

Who hurt your feelings bruh? I completed 2 full playtroughs and we refused to use any cliffs and those things because we wanted the loot. There is nothing wrong with providing environmental possibilities. :steamfacepalm:

I'm playing on Balanced, never found fights obnoxious.

PS: Using the mechanics and tools at your disposal in the way they're intended to be used isn't "abuse". It's literally what you're supposed to do.

It feels dirty that's for sure.

My first encounter with Minthara had her charge at my team, ending her turn on the bridge which Wyll cast shatter on and she disappeared never to be seen again.

Granted, this was accidental which was both hilarious and disappointing as I wanted some loot.

Accidentally nudged a hag down a pit too at one point.

Magic is pretty much pointless in this game. Physical attacks and shoves are king.

Because you are allowed to do about anything in this game, and so do enemies. Not everything comes down to max DPS builds, luckily.

Nobody hurt me. What are you on about?

OP is complaining about the mechanic. I'm not.

They did it to make people with small brains upset.

If you don't see anything wrong about your comment, even when it's pointed out to you... you have a problem...

Yeh the game design mechanics are pretty awful, they're designed to make the game look more fun, whilst removing more advantages and giving the ai a simple instant win option. The devs know full well if you loose a single party member to being shoved, you'll reload the game.. or in most cases, quit the game and never come back. Which is what 80% did.

I mean, I could be wrong, but I think they might have been focused on your opinion stated as fact about Larian and the combat design. And apparently other people don't share your opinions.

Personal opinions stated as facts often cause disagreement.

Just a thought.

You got caught being a jerk because you utterly misunderstood a post.

Just accept that you failed to recognize tone and intent on a text-based internet post and move on with your life.
