Priestess Gut's Tadpole
When I kill priestess gut, the tadpole appears in her loot but doesn't appear in my inventory when I take it.

Does anybody else have this problem?

there is a point where you stop getting them in your inventory and they go straight to being things you can spend on available illithid powers (when you press B)

there is a worm symbol in the top right of screen. it should go up when you pick up a tadpole (after a certain point in the game).

I have a similar problem, the tadpole doesn't even appear in her loot.

That is an entirely different problem the way you described it. Best you reread what Moffin Bovin wrote and check your inventory once more.

Considering I never use them, sounds like it's cutting out the middle man.

But no, I haven't personally noticed this myself. Doesn't mean it's not happening obviously, just don't pay attention to them so if I'm missing some I don't notice.

After a specific point, you instantly consume all tadpoles and they are added to the counter beside the minimap.

It also means you can loot red tadpole containers owned by others and walk away scotfree even as they search you for the loot. You instantly consumed it.

This is untrue if you never use any.

You misunderstood, they are not consumed by the player, just instantly added to the counter of available tadpoles. You still have to make the choise of putting the wiggler in your brain.

but the item is still in my inventory, so how is it "used" and on the counter in that manner? The item in my inventory can be taken back I quite imagine if I was stealing **** but since I rarely do that it's not something I'm aware of either way.

Either way, I don't care about the tadpoles so no matter how it works, it really doesn't matter. They just go to camp and sit in my camp chest and never get used.

Thank you for the answers, but checked multiple times, reloaded different saves and killed her again, and the tadpole just does not exist, and neither the counter goes up. The guardians voice implies that there should be one somwehere.

Same here, i dont see the parasite in my inventory after i killed the priestess nor as a counter near the mini map
