The workaround I have found is that the game created "Debug_Client_Profile_1" and will search for saves there instead of the "Public" folder.
So navigate to C:\Users\[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles and copy save files from "Public" to "Debug_Client_Profile_1" Should do the trick until they fix this I guess.
Note: They may remove that folder with the next update, so backup saves often if you go with this solution.
Cheers!
Interestingly, after doing this, I now have two travelers chests in my camp with a whole new set of the bonus gear like the shape shifting mask and the bag of clothes. One chest has everything I had stored in it and the second one has what would start in it if it were a totally new game.
Haha. Haven't been in camp, but i had to check after your comment, and it's same for me. Double of everything. And also the game setting restarted as well. From nudity check to EULA and brightness scroll.
Same. Guess we see what happens next when/if they make a fix.
Not a game issue.
