it was useful in the fight with Raphael.
That is stupid design.
If you look at the Baldurs Gate games in the past and even other DnD games like WotR (pathfinder) you will see the same type of spells usually but designed more intelligently.
These spells should have the option to cast it on 1 character and have it ONLY protect that character so it does not get used by the enemy.
Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 had Globe of Invulnerability spells they protected 1 character.
I would rather have that.
You folks know that the spell GLOBE of invulnerability is a 10 ft radius and immobile in 5e right?
In bg1/2 Globe of invulnerability is a 5 ft radius and attached to the caster. Which is likely for ease of implementation. Also could only target the caster of the spell.
bg1/2 had massive limitations for what would work. A lot of spells in BG1/2 are grossly overpowered due to changes that make them work in game and some are useless for the same reason.
Also technically the 2e version is 5ft radius like bg1/2 but also required Somatic, Material, and Verbal components.
The way these spells are designed are bad. You could say there is a reason 5E is the least popular.
Either way these spells work badly in game and should be reworked to work more like the Baldurs Gate 1 and 2.
Where Globe of invulnerability protected the caster.. and did not HELP THE ENEMIES.
That is really terrible design.
The important thing is that it does not HELP THE ENEMY.
I am the one casting the spell. As the caster I should be able to decide if I want to protect myself and not the enemy.
I would rather take a nerf where this thing only affects 1 character like in BG1 and 2 than this where its bigger but helps the enemy... this is HORRIBLE.
