Orin kidnapping so annoying (SPOILERS)
This happens pretty early in Act 3 and it feels like in order to get things back to normal you have to rush after a final boss. That is why I had to load a save to avoid going into the sewers even though the game design nudges you to stumble upon the sewers asap after entering the lower city. If a random party member is going to be taken and you have to jump through hoops to get them back you really shouldn't force the player to greatly advance in the main storyline when there are side quests we'd like to get done first.
There is a right way to go about having a party member get either killed or temporarily kidnapped and a wrong way to go about it. Larian did this the wrong way. This can be done for the sake of writing without greatly irritated the player for gameplay reasons. For example in Baldur's Gate 2 Aerie can end up killed at a certain point in the main story and it makes sense storywise but you can also immediately take her body to a specific temple you likely already cleared out and resurrect her. It doesn't force you to proceed further down the main quest line like it does in BG 3.

You can just leave them kidnapped. Orin won't do squat to them until you make a move on her.

It was Halsin in my case so I was like "oh noes.... anyway"

Wasn't in any rush to save him

Mine wasn't even a party member... I had Yenna, the orphan girl at the start of Act 3 kidnapped.

But then you are down a party member, even if you don't usually have that person in your party you may want to have them with you just for a quest they are heavily involved in.

She'll only kidnap Laezel, Halsin and Gale, if you have these three in your group, she'll kidnap the kid and kill the cat. So either you lose the use of one of your party members or have the cat die. She'll kill Scratch if she kidnaps Halsin in camp. The cat is pretty useless anyway, doesn't give good info and is shy.

Now see I can forgive her for killing Gale, Laezel or Halsin but if she touches my dog its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on

Hi, Orin kidnap Halsin in my campaign, but the problem is that too disappear from the camp Yenna. She abandon it suddenly without leaving a letter, something that others NPC do when left the camp. Only the cat remains.

I have no idea what has happened to her.

@Ranpo, the cat is beautiful and amusingly fluffy, so is very useful :D

I think Yenna disappearing is a glitch.

The kidnapping triggers either from long rests OR going to a specific place in the sewer (the area the emperor's hideout lets into, but that's not the only way to get there). If the scene triggers from the sewers, Yenna disappears no matter what.

If you trigger the kidnapping through a long rest (after the coronation scene and you have to get through any other long rest cutscenes before it will happen) then Yenna will stick around, assuming she wasn't the one kidnapped.

For optimal Yenna protection, trigger the scene in the camp and let a follower you don't care about get kidnapped. If Yenna is kidnapped, her cat gets murdered even if you save Yenna herself.

I was investigating sewers and I saw Orin there! So It must have been at that moment that the girl disappeared. Damned Orin, I will destroy her. Thank you for info!! ^^

Also, party members can't be kidnapped. I *think* active love interests can also not be kidnapped, but am not sure. You can control who gets kidnapped by leaving the person you want to be kidnapped out of your party.

Companions eligible to be kidnapped are Lae'zel, Gale, Halsin, and Minthara. If all eligible companions are in your party (or possibly your active romance. Again, not 100% sure on that) then Yenna will be kidnapped and her cat will be killed.

Exact same with me. Halpin taken and Yenna vanished.

Not a problem. Do that quest after you resque them. Orin's fight is not the hardest.

You can also manipulate who she's taking by saving before her appearance, going to camp and changing your party.

Iirc she can only kidnap Halsin, Laezel, Gale and a girl. Everyone else probably too strong or smart to get kidnapped :D
