To be even more sure, when you are right next to the final ledge, you can stop and jump - there is a small chance your character may stop/drop right before that ledge.
But properly you can use light to show the path.
The mosaic on the floor near the start is a map showing how the paths are laid out.
You're meant to memorise the map then walk the right number of paces forward/left/right through the void to not fall off the paths. (very fiddly, but doable)
I'll chalk it up to - puzzle probably depends on your graphics card driver and brightness ;)
