The STR requirement rule is in regular DnD 5e rules, which is where OP may have heard it from.
Ah! That explains it. I dont see a reason for a life or light cleric to get into melee range.
Also, if they have 16 dex, I'd assume this is their main weapon stat, so more damage and more likely to hit, the higher it is.
hell i wish they added the freaking ammunition tracking to weapons, that would balance all ranged classes, i mean im playing a throw expert and i always need to have a lot of spears as heavy as i can find them.
i made auntie ethel rich by buying as much giant hill strenght elixirs as i can buy, even using lvl up inventory reset exploits.
Also there are multiple medium armors in the game that give you whatever your dex modifier is, even if it's over 2.
