i was proud of myself for managing to ignore all the pathetic romance and cringe sex scenes in BG3, but when the Illithid Emperor offered me sex while laying shirtless on a rock, i just sat there in disbelief for 5 minutes contemplating if i should just alt+f4 and delete this game and try to forget i ever played it.

i feel ashamed of myself for playing it.
i have never played a more pathetic game in my whole life.
i have this sinking, dreadful feeling of wasting my life away when i listen to dialogues in BG3.

i just cant cope with this f*cking game anymore.

I have two different playthroughs. One is a goody two shoes Ranger who shut down the emperor at every turn even when they appeared to be the girl of his dreams and the other is an insane Great Old One Warlock who thinks sex is a polite form of greeting and slurps down purloined illithid tadpoles like they are gummy bears. Naturally, only one of them got that scene in the first place. This game is all about choices. It is like that one scene where the dungeon master narrating it just straight up says "Well well well... if it isn't the consequences of your own actions." It's called role playing, dude. Its gonna get a little weird and you need to learn to turn into the skid.

Seriously I wish the game had an option to turn off all the weird sex or pick whether your character likes men, women or both. This isn't giving more options, because most of the time its random characters making a move on you. Besides, I dislike the fact that characters don't have their own identity. They all have rather strict likes and dislikes in everything else, but when it comes to sexuality, its like they are all just full on libertines that are into everything out there. I'm rather surprised there isn't an option to feed each other your feces as well. That's about all that seems to have been left out.

You literally decide what your character likes cuz your playing your character, you get to pick, i dont see what an option like that would do, just decline the romance ya dont like

I usually ignore such things in most of the games. But the way Larian presented all these things is just pathetic. Less than an hour into the game, you have been asked for a smooch at least once. You were polite to a companion? Well, expect to be asked for a ♥♥♥♥ any time soon. Did you watch a magic trick? Guess what? We are dating now! Do you want to dance with your friend? Well, if you want to stay friends, you better not. Have you ever confronted a creep harassing female joggers in your park? You do not need to, because if you saved Nightsong and heard how she commented to you about her lover, you know how those people sound. Lady! I am not your friend, and even if I was, those comments are borderline. Keep it between you and your lover. I am trying to ignore it all, but there are no deep conversation trees that lead to smooching some companions. For some of them, it is a top-level dialogue option. So when you check your companions for new dialogues, the usual options that you see are "tadpoles?", "♥♥♥♥♥-♥♥♥♥♥?", "Goodbye". I am ranting only about followers and companions, but if you add to this all other sex-related jokes, propositions and scenes, you will understand why some people want to ALT+F4 this game and get a long shower.

Not a single of the things above is bad on its own. But the sheer amount of them feels pathetic and creepy.

By the way, as a person who sometimes ♥♥♥♥ with men in real life. I can also say that making sex-related dialogues for gay men and straight people almost identical is weird. Those two experiences are orthogonal. But I get used to gay conversations usually written by gay women at best, but in most cases by straight people. Just FYI
