Look I do think the game is too quick to proposition the player with every potential companion, I'd like to see some explicit opt in that would change the character of an ingame relationship from friendship to intimate. So you don't have to feel like you had to turn down an advance and live with the awkward feeling after that point that accompanies any rejected declaration of romantic interest among friends.
But at the end of the day its just a game, these aren't real people and you can just say no and forget it.
