Shadowheart has Meh STR by default(and both are STR weapons) so she's better with the support effects of the blood of lathander mace (blinding undead/fiends and auto deathward once per long rest) the spear is honestly kind of meh (though it's one of the earliest +3's)

Depends what class you made her for, I made her tempest cleric / sorcerer and so she didn’t need either of the items . Unless you plan on making her into a mele/ paladin I’d say neither is good.

But the mace have sunbeam so at least you can use that as a free aoe when needed

If you want to be optimal, don't waste divine intervention on the mace if you already have a legendary in your possession, save it for one of the other uses. You'll get negligible bonuses for taking the mace.

In the end it boils down to personal preference, but there's little reason to get another legendary if you already have one unless you're doing it specifically for her build.

oh wait.. I thought you meant Blood of LAthander... Divine intervention mace is GARBAGE don't waste it on that.

if you REALLY want it.. use Hope to cast it and disarm her (command/Disarming strike) or kill her. or a hireling and just steal from them

Neiher of them. As a cleric the most overpowered item you can wear in this game is most likely the arcane staff? from the Underdark Tower, buffing bless from 5-20% melee hit to 10-40% melee+spell hit chance buffing all your group members in the 90-100% hit area. Clerics also are not meant for damage in any way with only one attack sadly (Solasta added a subclass with a second attack which is nowhere to be found in D&D5).

Get a hireling and have them get the mace.

bless means you aren't spirit guardianing and going WHEEEE and mowing down the entire room though :x
moonbeam is really really good
I'm using the same spear.

As far as I'm understanding - if you give them MARTIAL ART weapons, they get more bonus in damage vs SIMPLE WEAPON and unfortunately both SPEAR and MACE are SIMPLE WEAPON to Shadowheart.

Flails, Glavies, Halberds, Morning Stars, Pikes are standard MARTIAL ART weapons for Shadowheart althought I haven't really find good one at all.

Moonbeam is really the only reason to even USE the spear tbh =/
downside is Spear Moonbeam isn't as good as Druid/paladin one since it can't be upcast (it's always lvl 2)

the mace is good for undead fight "turn undead" and after than just turn light on and off again(repeatuntil undead dead) for instant undead kill

The staff if it actually worked would indeed be best in slot, how ever in it's current incarnation it 'adds' +0d4 to mele and saves ( yes ZERO ) and +1d4 to spellcasting attack rolls - and doesn't trigger when upcasting bless with a 3+ spell slot ( so save those level 1/2 slots :P )

I still use it though hoping they will fix it ( at level 11 atm so seems unlikely for this play though xD )

Care to give an example what exactly you mean by that, any gameplay example? Writing such things without any example is worthless.

Interesting, didn't noticed that for the melee part but mostly because i usually have the advantage ring equipped on a fighter and barb has advantage anyway and see 90% hit most times with great weapon master active.

Spirit guardian has its uses against some 1hp encounter but later on in act 2+3 you will face 100hp+ enemies where spirit guardian isn't worth to gimp all 4 heroes in their attack rolls.
