"Spoiler"Ending problem there is no good ending with out turning in to illithid?
like wtf why is there no good ending option without somebody turning in to illithid. the closest you can get without transformation is blow the nuke, i feel this is kinda bs.

Idk I found yeeting "the nuke" into it was the most redeeming option. But, again I enjoy playing as a pragmatic miserable bastard.

Probably a spoiler would be nice or not putting all of the question into a title.

But, you already have 1 illithid so noone needs to turn into another one. That's already an option.

yeah i think at the end of the day, i will probably be chooseing the nuke option.
There is no way to avoid either Orpheus becoming food or someone becoming a Mind Flayer. Even the Gale option, despite making logical sense (and him even pleading with you that he will die happy and return to Mystra's side in the after life, while your soul will be saved from being destroyed), can't avoid it because neither Orpheus or the Emperor will be willing to trust the plan and so demand a snack or some one becoming a squid.

Emperor is already a mind flayer. He does the job. Noone else needs to become a mind flayer. Am I missing a question?

Yes he will, but he will demand eating Orpheus' brain to get his power. So for no one to become a mind Flayer, Orpheus instead needs to die.

Yes, but for now one of them dies anyway. So Emperor ending for now sounds like as happy ending as possible.

At least until Larian (or mods) makes an option where they can come to an alliance for Emperor to deal with a problem and live his life wherever he wants outside of Grand Design and Orpheus to deal with his racial problem, which he should focus on. So logically a win/win situation, see why not.

The main thing is its not you who has to become the mind flayer!

I mean, screw that other guy right?

Title says "good ending" not "happy ending".

Emperor is objectively evil. Orpheus is a victim.

The current "best" ending seems to be have Karlach talk to Orpheus. She seems to be the only person besides your main character that he agrees to turn, and the newborn mindflayer that thinks it's her seems pretty happy about being able to keep "living".

but what did you did a run where you got minthara so karlach is not with you lol. at least if you play as gale mystra can turn you back after wards lol.

I think it'd be pretty cool to have some challenging speech options where we can make them see pragmatism, considering how pragmatic they both get at the end, and just deal with each other so we can kill the Elder Brain.

yeah bauldian seems like a reasonable guy, him just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to the elder brain if you side with opheais don't really make sense

You can free Orpheus and the Emperor will join the brain because he can no longer manipulate you and no one becomes a mindflayer.
Hawke Aug 30, 2023 @ 11:41pm
Isn't Orpheus a Githyanki, with their views on the other races only as potential slaves? Thus, LE and having another LE NPC kill him (instead of doing it yourself) is as close to a good ending as it gets.

Though, as far as I know, it is not possible to make sure that the Emperor doesn't try to eat anyone else in the epilogue.

Edit. On another note, why weren't there any Githzerai?
