Need Help With Thaniel, Peeps! [SPOILERS]

Guys, I'm hella confused.

So, I helped Halsin with the portal, he said we need to make Thaniel whole and joined my party (YAY!). We found Oliver, Thaniel's aspect or whatever. Part of him. He wanted to play hide and seek, but via dialogue he got pissy, opened the portal, and I followed. Two Shades spawned, Mommy and Daddy. I beat them, and Oliver disappeared.

Thaniel is now awake in camp, but game says he's unresponsive when I try talking to him, and quest marker is still saying that I need to locate Thaniel's second half. I'm bloody confused. Is this a bug? Or is it supposed to happen?

I saw a guide that said to follow the steps I have, but I feel like game is stuck. Help, pls?

after u finish the hide and sick game , grab halssin and hit oliver once when he stand in his house,
a portal will open then u have to beat his shield while he summon more shadows , after that u can let halsin do his thing and quest over.

Do i have to play hide and seek?
Also, do i have to hit the shield or just defeat the shadows? First time i defeated them, he only disappeared and there was no dialogue after the fight or nothing.

From the sounds of it the encounter bugged. Way it's supposed to work is you do the hide-and seek thing with Oliver, talk to him again after rescuing Thaniel, he gets huffy and portals over to the ruins of the city square, and you have a fight with him summoning infinity friends alongside Mommy and Daddy. Once you kill enough friends to take down his shield, he should start a conversation with you where you convince him to return.

Seen a few people reporting buggy behavior with the quest. Reload and try again, or just carry on if you don't care for recruiting Halsin. He's the big reward, there's more than enough XP from other sources to not worry about missing one boss.

Yeah, i re-loaded, seems to be working now. Triggered the dialogue after the battle.
