If ever you are wondering what a ceartain stat or description means, Press T while hovering over an item. Then you can mouse over the word and it will explain in detail.
Reading this thread I'm starting to be a bit uncertain about the dmg part though.
Because it's a attack roll, you roll a d20 and add modifiers to beat their AC.
In tabletop you rarly got the luxury of % chance to hit.
+1 attack deals +1 damage as well, and +1 to your dice rolls.
Also, if you're new, keep in mind that all melee attacks use your str modifier for both hit chance and damage, unless the weapon has finesse, then you can use dex instead if dex is higher than str.
Normally you'd think dex means accuracy and str means damage, but that isn't the case.
As confirmed by posts after mine. It's +1 Damage AND +1 to your Attack roll (increases your hit chance).
