Intelligence use?
Is intelligence only useful for wizards? I know you have int checks and skills that are affected by it but it seems like it'd be extremely sub-optimal to have a character put points into int just for the skills. Is there ever a reason to have it above 8 for any of the other classes?

arcane trickster rogues use it for their spells, eldritch knights use it for their spells, high elves use it for their cantrip

Intelligence checks in combat such as illusions or psycic damage that procs both willpower and intelligence.

It's the weakest stat in the game, but it's not useless, depends on class.

Even then though, those classes typically prefer spells that don't actually need int.

i dont know why but i feel like sorceres sould have been intelligence instead of charme, just feels more logical to me
Intelligence has been the go to dump stat since DnD 4e, unless you're one of the specific classes that use it for spells sadly.

for classes like Wizards, Eldritch Knight and Arcane trickster, the Int bonus (i.e. 12 = +1) adds to the attack and damage roll for spell casting. just like how str stat adds to martial weapons.

Here you can use it as dumb stat even on wizard since you can get the item that sets intelligence to 17

It also makes multiclassing with wizard trivial

Most spells don't get a damage bonus from Intelligence without a class feature, actually. Its primarily for spell attack rolls and save DCs.

Considering you can get your Intelligence up to 22 (24, maybe, depending on if the mirror gives different random payouts for other classes), taking a -3/4 reduced modifier is a bit painful.
