rugan get beaten in hideouts ?

Im in good terms with zarys, stole back the chest.
And i just can't leave Rugan like that, but i also wanna see if theres more with them as she says "lets see in baldurs gate" so is there a way to save Rugan and stay in good terms with zarys ?

afaik there are no consequences as long as you are good with Zarys and give her the chest without opening it.

I actually managed to kill all the Zhents and save Rugan and the Artist before they could set off the Powder Kegs....

Rugan immediately got up, turned hostile, showed a cut scene of him looking pissed while my rep with him went down, saying that he was about to attack...

And then the cut scene ended and he was gone.

I reloaded a couple times and got the same result.

Ah sorry I thought OP meant saving him from the Gnolls in his cave "hideout".

I saved Rugan at the hideout after taking the box but refusing to kill him when haggling with his leader (paladin problems). Once saved he seemed happy considering his predicament and parted ways peacefully.

Act 2 spoilers. J/k he did not appear.

I've barely scratched the surface with act 3 so no comment.

If Rugen dies, you just pick up the chest and return it to the hideout. They thank you, you still get the blue crossbow, and the leader lady will tell you to find them in Baldur's Gate if you want more work.

she didnt ask me to kill him.
She said shes punishing him but glad to have him back. gave her the chest and stole it again, nothing triggers nearby his chair, i can't talk to him
