Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends
"Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends - which we hope to launch very soon - is an example of us integrating your feedback. This feature allows you to get rid of co-op party members who join your campaign, so you can continue on without them. We’re also working on the ability to change your characters’ look once you’ve started a campaign, though we don’t have a release date for that yet. There will be more and you can expect us to come with modding support at some point too."

This has probably been asked before but I couldn't find an answer, i promised I searched, maybe not hard enough.

Does Withers Wardrobe just delete the player character or park it in a way??
I'd love a feature where say your friend can't make a few sessions, you could just park his character at camp and take another NPC of your choice out on the adventure.
Then when they return to play swap the NPC out again for your friends char.

Just says they will be out of sight and out of mind until the next time they join the game. Thinking it just puts them in limbo and lets you choose another character to use until they can make it back.

I was wondering if it would be possible to allow my friends to leave their custom character in the wardrobe occasionally and play as a companion instead? We have a 4-p party and we would really like to do the companion quests, but since our party is full we can't take companions.

If one of us could occasionally play as Shadowheart or Gale etc, just so we can do their quests, and then take back the character from the wardrobe, that would be so welcome.

I believe you can do this. If you park your friend's PC in the Wardrobe, when they join it should assign him to one of the NPC's that is currently in your party. If not, simple click escape, then multiplayer, and assign him to play the NPC of choice. Then, go talk to his now uncontrolled PC, and tell that PC to go wait in camp (Wardrobe).

Nice, I hope this works!

I tested this yesterday, here's what happened.

I put my friend's character in the wardrobe before he joined, and left 1 NPC + 3 customized chars in the party.
Then asked my friend to join. The friend came in and the game auto-assigned one of the other customized characters to him. I then assigned the origin character to that friend and he could play with it, but I couldn't remove the customized character from his tab, it got stuck to him.
Then I asked him to close game to main screen and put all customized characters into wardrobe, and filled the party with origin characters, hoping one of those would be assigned to him. But when he joined, the game pulled his customized character from the wardrobe and kicked an origin char out of the party =\

Sigh... we just wanted to be able to do the companion sidequests even when there are 4 players online
