Lagging hard!

Game runs smooth as butter for me on High but for one exception. The lag. Now, its not that the game is a slide-show at all, i get close to 60 fps throughout from my medium rig, but every so often the sound during conversations is delayed, and sometimes the subtitles move on before it comes back thus missing some of the dialogue. SO FRIKING ANNOYING!¬!!
And then there's the movement bug, wehere characters just slide across the ground stock still, like moving a chest piece. this is constantly cutting in and out and it's getting annoying to the point i have to put the game down.
I tried playing with the few audio options, fullscreen/ borderless, v-sync on / off... I mean, was this not an issue in the beta?
Anyone else got another idea as to a solution?

I got some bad lag in the grove around Wyll. Otherwise it's been pretty good for me.

I doubt it will resolve your issue. I recommend cleanup cache plus increasing app priority instead.

this is the crazy thing, it happens everywhere. I still suspect a memory leak as when i load for the first time, it's fine but slowly it starts and then becomes more frequent and i get so peeved i have to close the game (reloading or loading from main menu doesn't help)

Save, exit game, and re-launch regularly. BG3 has massive memory leaks.

Ok, this is ridiculous! Tried everything, cleared cache, even played with the FX thingy, nothing! It's bloody annoying clicking to start a convo then like 30 seconds later it kicks in, but skips whole lines of dialogue as the scene keeps going out of sync. People sliding about the scene and textures that keep disappearing (that one's new and prob a 1-off)

That's more than a lag issue. Have you verified game files via Steam yet?

I've found a solution! been working great since last night and all day today!
Basically i have to go to task manager, find the BG3.exe, right click and select "efficiency mode" (it gives it a little leaf icon), et voila! No glitches, no lag, no memory leakage. Bizarre i know but there you go, anecdotal evidence that its a workaround.

I'm surprised it didn't by default. I'll have to check mine. There may be a landfill worth of trash on Reddit, but there is always the random posts with the exact answers to your problems too lol.

so true. I can say now for certain after days of play, that this has resolved the issue for me, hope it does for others too as its a real ball-ache to go through esp when the game looks so gorgeous!
