Yes, there is cut stuff, yes it's unfortunate, no I don't even remotely feel duped. I got MORE than my money worth, and hundreds of hours of fun.
All the money will go to the developers for fun at Disneyland
Have a nice day
The usual stuff you know - cut content, bugs, yadda yaddy. Everybody makes their own hell - we humans are very good at that =)
@OP
Still enjoying the game a lot after 200+ hours. But I'll stop playing once Starfield arrives...
This is a Disney game.
And they/we where doing so well up untill a cuple of weeks before release.
Then the overhype exploded, especcialy Fextralifes misunderstanding of the "Final" act.
(And every channel that used his statement as a single source after.)
I was lucky enugh to navigate around it, so I guess my expectations wasent as high as many others.
BTW: Good luck enjoying Starfield if you belive everything stated the last weeks will be exactly like you or media imagened it. (your setting yourself up for disapointment, you got your vision, they got theirs.)
Because there are features that the creative authors of the game wanted to include, but weren't able to get around to for marketing reasons. It's like a Chevy Bel Air without fenders basically. It drives around and looks cool and you can pass it on to your kids but there are no fenders there dogg. Where did they go? Hopefully they get added on later out of the goodness of Chevy's heart. Cool car though.
You CAN help and not feel duped.
Don't listen to doubt. Don't listen to your immediate emotional reaction.
You got duped by the trolls, and others who were duped about "cut content," without understanding the nuance and processes of game design. Logically, could you tell where it is "unfinished" or is it just your emotional brain manipulating you? Careful of the hope/hype that makes you assume that a 'definitive edition' will become your savior. Setting this belief up will only let you down, because ideals are never meant to be met. They are designed to drive you, but never reward you. Ever hear of the expression "chasing the dragon"? that's what an ideal is. Realistically, try to ground yourself. Hype, especially for gamers, is dangerous, and hurts more than helps. Yet companies manufacture hype to get people to buy things :X.
Seriously, ask yourself where it is "unfinished." Read their most recent update as of 8/29/2023.
It is also a normal emotional reaction to feel wanting. Especially in 2023, where dopamine is a button press away. We feel the lows much more significantly than our ancestors. What consistently brings you pleasure? Or do you suffer from anhendonia?
Resilience and Grit, trick your mind back as your mind has tricked you.
Never leave wanting, because you will never be satisfied. Understand that this game is a game, and not a miracle pill toward fulfillment. At the end of the day, it only seeks to pass your time. A success, as you already have said you got your money's worth.
I think you got more than what you bargained for, and got more value than the money you spent, but alas the brain makes us anxious, wanting, and fearful. It is an inevitability that the honeypot ends, and we realize the reality of our world again.
Really, the only cure to not feel the way you feel is to attach fond memory to the product or force your brain to undergo plasticity. As we get older beyond our formative years, it gets harder and harder to do. At the ripe age of 45, our brains start deteriorating cognitive function (memory, reasoning and comprehension skills) making plasticity near impossible.
I challenge you to fight back these feelings, to walk into the depths of your mental prison. Take your emotions and deconstruct them, reconstruct them like a puzzle.
OR, just ride the lightning, as the expression says, until you chase the next high the next game that will come :b.
