Although you could cross class you say warlock so why not 2-4 points in warlock and the other 8-10 in sorcerer of course if you dislike a class there is respec in game a short few minutes after the beach
Dump STR, buy or steal hill giant potions either from Ethel or the merchant in the myconid colony and pick up tavern brawler at 4, it doubles your str damage.
For multiclass tempest cleric 2 / draconic sorc 10 and STR monk 6/thief 4/fighter 2 are two of the more straightforward damage dealing builds covering the classes you've mentioned. Warlock 2 / Sorcerer 10 or Warlock 2 / Fighter 2 / Sorcerer 8 as well. I'd stay clear from casters if you're not familiar with dnd though.
For pure I'd say cleric is out of the picture if you want to kill people, they have some good options but need multiclassing to actually shine there. Light cleric is not terribad if you don't compare them to optimized characters.
Monk ideally wants multiclassing too but STR Open Hand monk with Tavern Brawler is gonna be at least decent anyway.
Pure Sorcerer is pretty capable too but is the hardest to play as it needs good knowledge of spells and resource management.
TL;DR if you're inexperienced go monk; if you've played some dnd games and don't mind number crunching and learning new stuff google some of the multiclass builds above.
Monk with 3-4 rogue gives you a lot of blows and single target damage but very little utility and no aoe
Cleric is actually amazing to multiclass with sorcerer so if you like the 3 classes above you can do great as tempest cleric 6/sorcerer 6 , great nuke power , with good utility and aoe plus multi target haste.
I love all the 3 classes they are all powerful and alot of fun . Pick whatever you like most
I am fine with multiclassing.
Clerics are usually pure casters, can be great at damage, control, or healing. Tempest is one of my favorites personally. Making them melee can be.... ok? I haven't tried it in BG3 but traditionally it's not great. That doens't make them bad though. Being upclose using guardians, summons, and close range spells/cantrips is very strong.
Monk is mostly close combat, moving around and controlling the battlefield while also kicking the ♥♥♥♥ out of things. Except Four Elements, they're ok. Kinda mix of sorcerer and Last Airbender vibes. Right now Open Hand is VERY strong. Not to say others aren't.
There's not a lot of unique situations for classes, but thematically some can work better than others regarding the story. Which playstyle do you prefer? (ranged or melee) and go from there.

There's a lot of builds so go with one that sounds the most interesting. I think most only require a single dip into one or the other though. I'm sure there are others.
EDIT: Also sorry for the crazy long link. I just typed in "Sorcerer/tempest Cleric build BG3 builds reddit" if you don't trust the link.
Paldin 7/Tempest Cleric 5 is also ok if you want the aura of your subclass.
You can cut some paladin or cleric levels to add Fighter 2 for action surge if you like big nova turns. Don't go below Paladin 5 tho.
There isn't much complexity, you mostly focus on STR and CHA, spell slots are for smiting or support spells. There are some items later to set STR to 23 or even 27 (temporarily) so don't push it too much or respec later, but you'll need some early. For feats it's just ASI and GWM, though you can go dualwielding or sword and board as well as you'll do plenty of damage even without GWM. GWM is still ideal for min maxing the damage. Best Paladin subclasses are Vengeance or Oathbreaker if you want the damage. Oathbreaker makes sense mostly if you go full 7 though, Vengeance is better if you take 6 or less.
That's for the smiting melee build, you can also do the sorcerer / tempest cleric caster which is also very strong.
