For Those That Need Help With Lady Jannath's Estate
If anyone still needs help with this, here are some helpful tips:

1 - all those bottles of water you've been saving? Throw one where you think a poltergeist or invisible enemy is (you're welcome).

2 - the cursed skulls will only push you back if you're standing in their line of sight on their turn or move in front of them outside of combat.

3 - I threw alchemist fire at the door behind the portrait on the easel thinking to damage it and it spawned the tormented soul. Same if you damage the hidden portrait behind the door. The note in the chest sends you to another npc that has what you need to complete the quest.

4 - if you want to hurt the skulls, AOE fire and force damage works but you gotta roll high damage and not target the skull but the area near them. This means those smoke powder bombs could work. It's how I killed a couple of skulls.

5 - the psychic attacks are coming from those red candelabras. There are souls in them. There's one in the hall infront of Lady Jannath's room, one behind the door to the hall upstairs near where the first skull is and one downstairs from where the first skull is.

Hope this helps!

Take Gale and fireball the skulls, or take it yourself. If you have remove curse you can also "brute force" it by turning on TB mode, letting it knock you back once, or ideally, just walking up to it and using the spell. Can also just use equipment that prevents knockback and use a tanky character to run up to the attic.

I also don't recommend completing the quest that way. Find information up there about Carrion, then talk to Lady Jannath about him.

I didn't realize you can ask her about him after finding the note. Thanks!

If you use Firebolt or Fireball I believe they need to hit above 50 dmg (greater toughness)

This was so annoying. I had see invis on 2 characters and one of the poltergeists passed his save for like 15 turns. I also thought you had to kill the skulls, I did not know you just had to kill the poltergeists. So I was busy trying to do that with up cast lighting spells on top of water. I got all but 2 before I finally was able to see and kill the final poltergeist.

Remove Curse works on these skulls as well. Otherwise, fireballs by a wizard, or at least a fire bolt, they have the best chance.

I killed Carrion long before stumbling upon this quest so the Torch was already in my inventory. Just a matter of visiting the camp, getting it out of the chest and leaving.

Yeah, that encounter took a lot of patience but I only needed to do it twice. The first time I completed everything but the active skulls finished my party off after the fact.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
