Why do the bottles of Red Dye glow red?

It doesn't seem like a graphical glitch and it's not referenced anywhere in game, but during every playthrough I've done of Baldur's Gate so far, the bottles of Red Dye glow red.

It doesn't seem to affect gameplay or the end result of dying my clothes, but the bottles of dye glow and nothing else does, so what gives? Is there some common thread between all of the characters I've played that's making this happen? Or is this a graphical glitch?

I took a screenshot of what this looks like and I've posted it below. There's another screenshot in my gallery of a non-glowing bottle of dye.
