The Upper City, Larian's stain on this game. A misled community with no answers given.
When Larian Studios first announced Baldur's Gate 3, they heavily implied that the Upper City would be a part of the game. This was very misleading, as it was later revealed that the Upper City would not be included in the game. This was a major disappointment for many fans, as the Upper City was one of the most beloved locations in the Baldur's Gate series.

The developers should have been more upfront about their plans for the game, instead of leading players on with false hope. It's understandable that they wanted to keep the Upper City a surprise, but they should have been more transparent about their plans and avoided misleading their fans.

It's understandable why Larian Studios chose to leave out the Upper City from Baldur's Gate 3. It would have been a huge technical challenge to include it, and it's likely that the developers felt that it would be too much of a strain on their resources. However, this doesn't change the fact that it was very misleading for them to lead players on with the expectation of the Upper City being in the game, only to be left out in the end.

They gave an answer, then people pulled up Community Update 19 and found out Larian straight up lied in Community Update 24 and now nobody knows what to believe.

One of the reasons why we trimmed the epilogue is because we were afraid the ending cinematics were becoming too long and would detract from the epicness of the experience.

More lies.

"No seriously guys, we were worried the game was just too good so we had to make it marginally worse. Please trust us."

This is actually a valid reason. MGS is famous for having ridiculously long cinematics. You can take a bath have a meal and the cinematic might not yet finish. It sounds good. But the fact? Not everyone like it. Some hate it. If I want to watch some crappy made movie, I will not play video game.
