Goblins raided without me?
Sided with goblins to raid the Druids. I went to the grove, did as the drow asked, no goblins showed up. I went through all of the Underdark before the boat and then went back to the grove, still no goblins. Read that you have to take a long rest, so I went to through the Mountain Pass since that forces you to long rest, then took the first waypoint back. However, apparently in this short amount of time, the goblins decided to raid without me, and are now attacking me on sight.

What are the conditions for the raid?

Entering mountain pass progresses some quests, including goblin raid.

Yeah, you need to do a long rest to progress the quest, which the mountain pass forces. However, the one long rest I took progressed it way too much.

No.

Entering the mountain pass is what forced it, not your long rest. Again: this is why it pops up a big warning before you enter. Had you just long rested in the wilderness, the place where you don't get a big "IF YOU MOVE TO THIS AREA QUESTS WILL PROGRESS WITHOUT YOU" message, then it would have proceeded normally.

I did not think that walking ~100 feet would progress entire days

EDIT: It was foolish of me to think that going through all the underdark before the boat would take less time then walking a tiny amount.

At face value, sure, but the game has a rather difficult-to-ignore warning that says "TAKE CARE OF YOUR SH*T BEFORE GOING", paraphrased delicately.

I just figured that meant I would get dragged into something that would take multiple days. Not "this doorway alters time and space".

I simply wanted to take advantage of the forced long rest so that way I wouldn't have to: Long rest -> Buff up -> Goblin raid -> Mountain Pass -> Forced into another long rest

The warning they put up is something that you would put up before the journey to Spellhold, not going into an area with plenty of waypoints that let you just teleport back.

This is a very simple concept. Instead of having the player spend literal days climbing a mountain in real time, the game skips ahead, and is kind enough to warn the player with a very clear message before hand. How can you not comprehend, the seconds it takes to sit through a loading screen, or use a waypoint is not representative of in game time.

It skips ahead ~100 feet.

The mountain pass is technically an act 2 area. You should have just gone to camp and long rested, instead of going to a different area to get a "long rest", lol. Not sure why you thought that was a better option.

I figured that it would kill 2 birds with one stone, instead of wasting a long rest.
