Crash on quicksave

Starting from today, my game crashes everytime I quicksave. No mods, no nothing. Just the game straight out of the box, never happened before (and I'm 150 hours in).

Anyone else seeing something similar?

I'm about 67 hours in and mine won't even start up anymore before crashing, I even reinstalled and that seemed to make it worse.

mine has been crashing a whole lot recently , all related to the driver for my 3080ti. I have lost an entire campaign progression of 80 hours yesterday. i tried all the suggestions. I crashed while quicksaving, POOF all gone. tons of crashing i may have to sit this game out for a while till it gets more patches

Try to find the cause of the crash. I had the same issue a few days ago when the game would crash often (but not all the time) when saving, whether initiated manually or auto-save. I found in Windows Event Viewer that Windows detected a low virtual memory condition and BG3 was terminated as a consequence. What happened was that I had no Virtual Memory (paging file) setup as I had never needed it before because I have plenty of RAM. But for some reason BG3 reserves a ton of virtual memory and appears to request even more when you issue a save game request, causing the game to crash in my case. I fixed it by creating a Virtual Memory in Windows advanced settings. May not be your cause of crash but check Windows Event Viewer to see if you can identify the cause.

I just found my problem, I tossed some locked chest to another place and since that move, every save of my game is corrupted, I just load before I touched the chest and everything is fine.
I think there must be some bug that we accidently triggered, the only way is either they fix it, or you find a save before you encountered the bug. It's really hard to find the exact bug that caused the problem..

I guess mine was something like that as well. I managed to fix it by reloading an earlier save, trying to quicksave, crashing, reloading an even earlier save, etc.. In the end I found a save from about 5 hours ago which didn't crash on quicksave, and I just picked up the game from there. I assume there was something I did between that save and the next like moving something or interacting with someone that fudged up everything.
And I also have a 3080TI which some people have suggested is more prone to crash the game than other cards.

Same here. I cannot save when I departure from my camp.

I was crashing on every quicksave too. Fixed it by disabling DLSS. Upgraded it in the process and it stopped crashing. For now ...

How to disable DLSS?

I tried every idea but my half-working solution was reinstalling the game to system (for me: C) drive. With this I don't get BSOD every 5 minutes just random game quiting after 2-3 hours.

“Delete the old save, decrease your maximum allowed saves (default is 25). Problem solved! I think the issue is that the save file is too heavy for me, about 2.5GB.”

Steam Cloud only works with 1,86 GB for this game.
