You can upcast it for up to 5 targets
My first time fighting the harpie things in the druid place to save the little kid....holy hell.
Siren song hits 3 of my people. sometimes its just 2. My barbarian and paladin usually could resist it (go figure), but even straight up melee attacks wouldnt break the concentration even on crit rolls to save my other party members. I think even once concentration was held even though i legit threw the harpy into another one.
I was woefully underprepared.
I will say now though, the game does give you a lot of room to work with and there arent too many really bad fights ive had. Gotta use what you are given.
Thanks for confirming you have zero idea how any of the game mechanics work.
Might want to look into that before offering opinions on what is or is not broken
If it were a Harpy's Luring Song ability, then concentration isn't even an issue -- it's not a spell, but an ability they need to keep using to maintain (with a bonus action). Silence would work. More dangerously, if you had a way of doing acceptably low damage to an affected party member, that'd grant an additional save to shake them out of it.
It can be upcasted to effect more than one target though.
And there was no concentration.
And being hit when paralyzed was instant death.
3e, 3.5e, and 5e version of Hold Person are tuned way down from how silly it used to be.
In what was is it "broken"?
It stops my Karlach from killing people, therefore op and needs to be nerfed.
