More seriously, lorewise, Elves can't grow beard until the 3rd cycle of life, wich is... hundred of years if I remember well ? And even here, those with beards are rare. The case of elves with beards in D&D story could be counted of hands.

Why exactly ? Who know, it's like hasking with dwarves are small but thick, or why gobelin are greeny, how why troll are stupîds. It's some king of "unique perk" I'd guess

Because their race is either unable to or doesn't keep them in their lore. There is at the moment no option to have an elf with a beard and neither does it look like it would be added anytime soon. As someone else has already pointed out earlier here in this thread, Elves in World of Warcraft have beards. Elves in Tolkiens works have NO beards, Elves in DnD have NO beards.

If you don't like a game following its narrative rules, perhaps don't play a narrative-driven game. But please stop calling it a "non-binary" issue. Beards are part of Genetics and Evolution. They are not solely a construct of social identity.

Has anyone actually seen a single in-game thing that choosing "non-binary" does or is it completely lip service pandering?
I tested it. It's they pronouns.

I genuinely don't remember conversations where someone was talking about me to a third party. Does it happen often?

You're right, it says they don't distinguish between males and females. Hence, they may not be able to tell them apart.

Elves had pointed ears and no body hair except eyebrows, eyelashes, and hair.
More importantly why don't female dwarfs have beards and all get referred to as he/him

I only bought the game today. It happens once at the beginning of the game.

Male dwarves were often bald and grew thick facial hair, which was sometimes used to display social status. Unusually for humanoids, both sexes naturally grew ample facial hair
they do grow beards.

Have you finished with that inclusivity yet mate?

Yeah stuck it in once at the beginning, no one will ever notice

So all the female dwarves that start without facial hair is because they've shaved? Then we need some dynamic beard growth feature

I'm not the one crying. I don't care about pronouns.

I understand that allegedly OP is some kind of super-binary who was so hairy that his beard grew out of the womb as early as the second trimester. Allegedly, the barber became a good friend of the family and, allegedly, he even came over to take care of them whenever the father was out on business trips. Allegedly.

They might be able to claim something, but they do not have the poisons to back it up. So they can not poison their body in order to change their chemical make up to grow a beard. Maybe you should consider suing the devs for elf discrimination?
