Love the game, but Autosave doesn't save nearly enough
Seriously, devs. Can we get a 'save every x minutes' option please? The amount of replay I have to do is getting REALLY annoying.

One thing its good to get into the habbit of is hitting F5 (quicksave) either before or at the start of big fights. I wouldn't recommend saving and reloading to avoid the results of dice checks or choices but given a TPK is a reload anyway it is good to not have to go back a long way.

Just press f5, you can quicksave anywhere even in combat, dialogues, roll checks. I think I quicksaved a bit over 2000 times in my first playthrough.

It's not that hard to press F5, but there's a couple of Autosave mods on Nexus, one of which I saw this morning and it autosaves every 10 minutes.

Agreed, that would be nice.

But then, we get something like 25 quicksave slots...

Why Quickload in the first place? Cant comprehend the consequences?
Very weak.

When you have played more CRPGs you get used to press F5 every 20 s.

Scumsave works pretty good.

Why shame people for playing a certain way?
Can't comprehend their right to enjoy the game they bought as they see fit?

you can have like 50 quick saves really is no need for autosaves. I wish every game had the quick save system this game has. Pressing F5 is super quick to save, and F8 to load. No need go into the menu unless you need an older quick save.
You need to teach yourself to quicksave all the time.
I know, it sucks, but I believe in you.

Before I got the routine down myself, I repeatedly gave up on BG3 because I didn't feel like replaying 5+ hours.

I personally don't long rest more often than I need to (which isn't a lot even on Tactician) so after some exploring and backtracking I would easily lose 3-5 hours of progress in case of say a total party wipe.
The number of quicksaves is also customizable, so you can set it to like 10 or perhaps even 5 if you prefer, I don't know what the max is tho.

Long rest as often as you need to. Food is plenty I have over 2k of it and not even killed the gobbos in the camp yet. Your not going mess up your game by long resting to much the game will make it very obvious if there are consequences.

The thing is, the Game Devs did this "Consequence"-mechanics for a reason. If you always save scum to achieve the "Best" outcome its against the design philosophy and makes the mechanic worthless.
Try a linear RPG instead, like Final Fantasy.

I have a gadget attached to my F5 key that pushes the button at an interval I can specify. Hardware autosave implementation.

You're assuming people are simply quicksaving to get the "best" outcome every time, and not simply because they don't want to re-play an hour or 3 because the party got wiped due to a bad roll or dialog option.
