Friendly NPCs disregarding their own safety (MINOR ACT 3 SPOILERS)
I just encountered a group of Bhaal-worshiping murderers in a park, and when I initiated combat with them every single <10hp civilian in the area decided to sprint directly towards the group of knife wielding people who are shouting about murdering the innocent in the name of Bhaal. It really broke my immersion to have all of these people who I am trying to protect run straight for the source of danger instead of running away like anyone would realistically do in that situation.

I had a similar experience with the gnomes in the basement of the Steel Watch Foundry constantly misty stepping into harms way and running into telegraphed explosions rather than staying at a distance and using the long-ranged spells that they all know how to cast. I hope Larian does something about AI for friendly NPCs because it is incredibly frustrating when I'm trying to keep them alive and they disregard basic logic and self-preservation to make a bee-line for the nearest deadly threat.

Both of these fights are god-awful. The AI is embarrassing, really. The further you get in this game the more you feel like you have a railroading DM who will do anything he can to have the event go the way he wants it to.

This is one of the weakest sides of the game. I hated it, especially steel watcher self destruction and gnomes who had to take a closer look.

But hey if I stroll around with my summons, people run for their lives.

PS: Let them die. Really, don't waste your time.

I had one encounter in the park, in which the npcs just stand there waiting for their death.
I decided to push them with my bonus action away after initiating the fight.
That's when they start running (but only the one being pushed)
If one of the 2 civilians die, the other one runs.

Don't get why they don't run to safety when a fight breaks out. And by fight I mean a proper (loud) fight. (I get that maybe some would stay if they people were just brawling)
they killed a dog in the park, stupid animal

Some npcs even have strange health, like lvl 1 and >60hp.

Those civic with "~1hp", no idea why they even attack an enemy at all.
it is EXTREMELY frustrating when you cast sanctuary on a low hp npc or just one of the bloomridge park npc and they decide to FIGHT

Ya know what's strange? You open the door to Flymm's Cargo and inside are a whole bunch of worgs. The people standing by the door to the warehouse suddenly scream and start running. What's bizarre is they start running INTO the warehouse where the worgs are. You would kinda think they would run AWAY.

They were screaming and running to the worgs because they found them cute and wanted to pet them obviously.

Honestly I would understand low level NPC's wanting to shoot stuff if they had ranged attacks (who knows they might get lucky) but ya the ones that stupidly run into melee are a PITA and make no sense.

Speaking of bad AI, Isobel moves are also terrible during the battle at Last Night Inn. She is acting like if she want to be captured or want to die.

Yeah. They really need to give some Class to the NPC dividing them into actual Combatants and Civillians. So the Weak Run Away and not Charge. Only actual Warriors etc going in to Fight.

heh, its not just this one. WOTR has an epic early game fight, where you get a healer companion, with like 30 drunk party people and a whopping *4* low level enemies. Those 4 enemies can kill about half of them just due to drive by opportunity attacks before you can close enough distance to end the threat. The 'protect the level 1 idiots' theme in these games has always been messy.

So are you playing Durge? Just curious.
If not, and this is in game due to other reasons...
Then you must ask yourself. Why?
The answer is Bhaal does not discriminate between killer and victim.
'Murder' is still 'murder' depending on the concept boundaries, the actions taken and lastly, their intent. Seeing 10hp idiots throw themselves to their death. Do you think Bhaal gives a care about how he get souls? No. Toss a million souls at the pyre and watch them burn for all he cares. Souls are currency, in Hell and in Godhood.

Well, that sounds like a bug, from your explaination.
You should submit this block post to the Suggestions and Feedback forum, so the Devs can see it, and they can take action upon it.

Not necessarly. Same thing happened for me so I had to Misty Step Jaheira to save 2-3 civilians who rushed into the battle. Jaheira (with a little of help from Shadowheart) saved the day of these poor souls.
